Gathering some flavor and material for your writings, eh Obie?. The genial Max Pryor is now a salesman in Mundelein, Ill. Seems last news of Max had him in Ari- zona. El Trowsdale's Tuck terms are paying off. He is now assistant manager of the John Carter & Co., Inc., in that pleasant city of Hartford, Conn. Don Hutchinson is Ist Lt. "Hutch" right now, with the 9710 th TSU Medical Lab., at Army Chemical Center in Maryland. Your fine work with "Leon B." in freshman year is working wonders, Hutch.
The publication world felt '46 in force this month. Ollie Rea has been made associate editor of the Trade Book Dept. of Rinehart. Back in 1946. Ollie was a theatrical producer with a partner in Whitehead and Rea. Prior to joining Rinehart, he was publisher of the American Lawn Tennis (Anyone?) Magazine. A nice spread with glossy pic in Bookbindingand Book Production (trade book of the book industry) tells of Dick Nylen's new position in charge of sales to the book trade for Dupont's Fabric Division.
Harvard weekend should have uncovered some good '46 gatherings. Growler and JeanWhitman had a small nucleus of 100 or so out in Wellesley. Nona and Jack Sayers and Jackie and Bob Kimball were in there rally- ing the troops. This looks like the "annual" to supercede and replace the Statler doings only requisite, bring your own rug to toss out the window. The Sayers cooled themselves and "lived a little" in Bayview, Milford, Conn., this summer. Jack is with Fiberglas out of Hartford.
The Dartmouth faculty was '46 enriched this fall with Dr. John Copenhaver. John is .an assistant professor in the science depart- ment. And Andy Scott left the Mutual Se- curity Agency as foreign officer to join the faculty as assistant professor of government. Andy is the author of a book called "The Anatomy of Communism" and he is married to the former Anne Furor of Montezuma, Ga. The Scotts will live on Balch Hill.
Leonard Swett opened his new law offices in Hartford. With another attorney, Mr. Melvin Stoner, the firm is Stoner and Swett.
Lead off man in the marriage series is that reluctant bachelor, Joe Donahue. Joe and Eileen McGuire were married October 7 in Lowell, Mass. Reception was held out at the Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro. Joe's "no throat" friends helped with the champagne. Neal Brunner and Sally Reagan were married in Lakewood, Ohio, this summer. Sally graduated from Lourdes Academy. A booming reception followed at the Hotel Cleveland. Then Neal and bride flew to Bermuda. Over in South Orange, N. J., Lois Keterson and Dan Smith were married on August 29. Dan's brother Rob (who is teaching at New Hampton) was best man. Ev Nordstrom was one of the ushers. Dan and Lois flew to Hawaii where he will teach at the Punahou School in Honolulu. Don Behnken was married to Anita Villa in Garden City, L. I., in September. Anita graduated from Wheaton and was with W. & J. Sloane in N. Y. C. Don is in business in New York. Richmond, Va., suh! reports that Mort Thalheimer is engaged to Nancy Lee Passloff. Nancy attended Goucher College. Mort is in the theatre business in Richmond. Tony Anthony is engaged to Betty Johnson and they plan a wedding this fall. Betty graduated from Bradford Jr. College and Tony is situated in Buffalo at an undisclosed occupation.
