The election of John C. Wood as president of the Fifth Avenue Association was announced recently. President of Brooks Brothers, he has been active in the association for a long time, serving as a director since 1946 and a vice president since 1953. John serves also as chairman of the board of Better Business Bureau.
The Association of the Bar of the City of New York announced that Francis H. Horan has been named to the committee as chairman on administration of justice.
After serving faithfully for ten years in the office, Van Vleck H. BosBurgh recently submitted his resignation as chairman of the West Hartford (Conn.) Board of Finance.
Cecil Goldbeck has been named director of advertising, promotion and publicity for the associated publishing concerns of E. B. Putnam Sons, Coward-McCann Inc., and The John Day Company. Cec will continue to serve as vice president and secretary of the board of Coward-McCann, as well as editor of that concern.
