'46 Doings - Bob Poet, the former Big Green end, visited our town several weeks ago. Frank O'Neill ran into him here as he was hustling to catch a plane for the West Coast. Bobby is with the Chemicals and Materials Division of G.E. and living in Anaheim, Calif.; he was here on a project at our Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Red Copenhaver has been promoted to Associate Professor of Zoology on the campus at Hanover. Congrats, Red. Our esteemed Treasurer Andy Murtha has moved to Indianapolis and is pretty much a "neighbor." Nice to have you in the Mid-West, Andy, and while I'm thinking about it men, don't forget to send your Class Dues check for $5 to Andy. Remember, that this $5 includes your subscription to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE and helps keep '46's Treasury in a solvent state. Andy has been named Business Manager for WFMB and WFMB-TV in Indianapolis.

Here in Dayton, Johnny Gogle has been named a partner in the certified public accounting firm of Battelle and Battelle - nice going, John. Bruce O'Brien has joined the Kemper Insurance Group's fire division and will work in the company's production department. Bruce evidently has become quite an authority on the engineering of industrial plants for fire protection and works in an advisory capacity with his company's fire insurance people and their clients. As I understand it, his territory will now cover the Mid-West area. Hank Durham's dad was recently honored and promoted by the city of Belmont, Mass., for his many years of service on the Belmont Police Force. Jay Bruemmer has been named Sales Manager of the Stanley Equipment Division of Landers, Frary and Clark in New Britain, Conn. Jay's company sells Stanley and Dazey products to hospitals, hotels, etc. He has been with the firm since 1948. Up in Orono, Me., Dr. Phil Osberg (the Dr. is for Ph.D.) has been named Associate Professor of Geology at the University of Maine; Phil had been serving as assistant professor of geology and director of a summer camp for geology at Penn State University and also at Colby College in Maine between 1952 and 1957. Congrats Phil!

Diaper Department - Hank Durham, the old first baseman, has become a father again - this time a son Michael. Julie Cohen and wife announce the birth of daughter Ellen Rose in August.

Round the Girdled Earth - Don Alvarez is Sales Manager for The Lord Baltimore Press in San Francisco. Dave Clarke is an Appraiser with Ogden and Company in Milwaukee. Tom Cochran is Counsel for Humble Oil and Refining in Los Angeles and living in Torrance, Calif. Steve Hackett is Headmaster at St. Andrew's Day School in La Mesa, Calif. Rog Lochhead is in medical practice in Montclair. Alex Nazarek is a project engineer for Republic Aviation in Mineola, Long Island. Joe Reagan is Vice President and General Manager and a Director of the Florida Wire Products Corp. in Miami. Dr. Walt Warren is practicing medicine in Charlottesville, Va. Dick Rogers is in the Psychiatry Dept. of Mass. General Hospital in "Bean Town." Ralph Fifield is living in Danvers, Mass., and spent some time in Hanover in October - Lucky guy.
