At a joint picnic and swim party held by the alumni clubs of Pennsylvania and Dartmouth, our Ivy League prestige, and of course our athletic supremacy and prowess, was well demonstrated, when our Softball team ably captained and managed by Dutch Schildmiller '09 took the measure 10 to 6 of a youthful Pennsylvania team. A good group of families of both alumni bodies enjoyed an afternoon of fun, frivolity, swimming, refreshments and the ball game. We have already been challenged by Penn for next year.

A similar family picnic was held in the early part of September for the purpose of meeting the new members of the class of 1962 before they left for Hanover. All of us older members enjoyed getting together with these new boys and also the undergrads who were still in town.

President Fred Wood '24 has all of his alumni high school interviewing committeemen hard at work on men for the class of 1963 and he reports that they are all getting fine receptions in the different schools and that there are a great many fine boys who are seriously interested in Dartmouth. Our film "Dartmouth Visited," which the club purchased a couple of years ago, is shown regularly in the different high schools by the men working on these committees, and it is their candid opinion that it is of great help to them in this all-important work. Of course the fact that we have fourteen outstanding boys in Dartmouth now, including two Senior Fellows, helps a great deal also.

By the time most of you read this it will be time for many of you frozen yankees to begin thinking of Miami's warm sunshine and planning for winter vacations. We of the club hope that any of you who are down this way will avail yourselves of our club luncheons, to which any and all are cordially invited. Luncheon meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at Betty's Lobo Lounge.
