Class Reunion - The 14th Hanover — June 19, 20, 21

Having just returned from Hanover and the Class Officers meeting, I should be brimming with news of 45's. Unfortunately, I was the only class officer there, the others cleverly saving their pounds and crowns for the great June event, Reunion. And so the Hanover contingent, Dave Hewitt, Nick Sandoe, and Cliff Jordan, plus SEC did their best to represent '45 as best they could. Your old SEC did get himself elected President of the Secretaries Association, so the weekend wasn't without its '45 tinge.

But, of course, you're all packed and ready for the grand tour to Hanover and '45s funfilled Fifteenth. Grease up the wheels, load up with gas (it's expensive in New Hampshire), throw in the ole carpetbag; we'll be waiting for you. And, as much as you've all received Paul Caravatt's jovial mailings concerning the event, I'm sure we'll see you. Incidentally, have you returned your dormitory room application to the Bursar's Office? If not, do so immediately or bring it along with you. Don't worry, we'll find room for you.

And now the news; brief, succinct, and interesting. Colgate University has been awarded a grant of $8,700 by the National Science Foundation in support of basic research under the direction of Elmer R. Trumbull, Assistant Professor of Chemistry. The Research, to be carried out over a three-year period, is aimed at shedding more light on epoxides, important in the manufacture of resins and the preparation of synthetic vitamin compounds. Edwin B. Hubbard Jr., Bursar of the Clark School for the Deaf, was recently elected Treasurer at a regular meeting of the Board of Corporators of the school. The Loyal Protective Life Insurance Company has announced the appointment of Robert N. Sluyter of Wellesley as General Agent for the Boston-North Shore area agency. Bob who came to Dartmouth from South Orange, N. J., lived in 301 New Hamp. his freshman year. From there his career parallels so many other 45's that it's worth mentioning After spending four years in the service, Bob attended U.C.L.A. and Syracuse, receiving his B.S. from the latter. With his wife, Jeanne, and two sons, David and Jeff, he how lives in Wellesley.

Betsy von Furstenburg and Douglas Watson opened last April at New York's off Broadway Barbizon-Plaza Theater in a play entitled "Season of Choice," and written by Nathaniel Banks. The Herald Tribune review that I read was quite complimentary, significant in that this was Nat's first production.

Odds 'n' ends from here and there: Vic Sherman and Miss Glenda Lee were married last February in New York. Your SEC added one to his growing family, also last February, with the arrival of Martha Ford Cutler, the lucky lady weighing in at 7-11. John Washburn is Attorney-Advisor in the Office of the Legal Advisor, Department of State, Washington, D. C. Joe Fater serves as Executive Secretary of the Building Contractors Employees Asso., New York.

And that is all. See you in a few days. Incidentally, come early and enjoy the Hanover Holiday program. It's the most.
