Well, here it is next year already and last year is what we thought was this year. Time really floats along and here it is the first of the third year out of college. However, most of the news is concerned with the conclusion of the football season. At a party after the Princeton Game I saw a lot of '57s. Here are their names and some of the quick news they were able to give me.

Russ Barry is living in Mt. Vernon with his wife and new baby while working in the city. Charlie Sellman recently got his M.B.A. and is now with the Bendix Aviation Corp. doing accounting work. Brian Coyne is studying at Villanova for a dental career. ChickIgaya and his new wife are now living in New York. Art Johnson is working for the Continental Can Co. Don Hutchins is working in the family tool and die in Springfield, Mass. Bob Marchand now has his M.B.A. from Columbia and is working for Union Can and Bag. Bob Sproull is out of the Army and working with National Plastics Corp. Gary Kepler is working in Pittsburgh for a small steel company. George Romanus, looking sharp and dapper, has now embarked on a Madison Avenue advertising career. BillDaily is living in the New York area and going to N.Y.U. medical school. These are bits and splashes of news. If you want a fuller picture then write me a letter.

Dave Jenkins is aboard the Coast Guard Cutter "Mackinac" cruising up and down the coast and sitting out in the Atlantic for five weeks at a period as part of the Early Warning System and speaking with each commercial transatlantic flight. Therefore, if you are flying the ocean and decide to drop into the water then do not be surprised if you see Dave looking over the rail of the rescue ship.

A new award is in the offing and will be presented every-so-often, as it is deserved. The first winner of the Adverse Award is presented by the courtesy of the Wall Street Journal as part of a report from Korea, "Over at D Company's weapons platoon, commanded by frustrated, young Lt. Christopher Wren, two of the unit's three battered 81-millimeter mortars recently were out of commission for weeks for repairs, and the third lacked a sight. Eight of the platoon's 29 men couldn't wear their steel helmets because no liners were on hand. On a recent 24-hour mock combat exercise the troops fiddled with four defective field radios, wound up signalling with flares."

Adam Block was recently married in Stockholm and now has Birgitta as his wife. Adam and "Gittan" tried very hard to win the first Adverse Award on their honeymoon. After leaving Stockholm and flying to Copenhagen they found there was no room reserved in their name. Later they found flight reservations were lost and, finally in Paris they had passport trouble. However, once they were safely on the "Rotterdam" for the trip across the Atlantic there could be no more trouble. That is,, unless they were to land in New York Harbor during a longshoreman strike. The Blocks are now safely settled and Adam is working for Compton Advertising.

In the Wedding Book here are some of the class members who have taken the big plunge recently. Bob Hamilton and Miss Elizabeth Worrell were married in Providence during October. Dave Orr and Miss Ruth Strait were also married in October. Miss Marsha Lee Smith recently became Mrs. Michael Waldbillig. After a Bermuda trip Mike and his wife will live in Quonset Point, R. I.» where he is stationed in the Navy. Dick Murray was recently married to Miss Sonia Ann Barker and they have joined the '57 Indians in Portland, Me.

Chick Winslow and Miss Nancy Shaw were married during the summer. Chick recently got out of the Navy and the Winslows are now living in Stone Harbor, N. J.

Hope and I both wish you all a very Happy New Year and also wait for your letters. Persevere, as did Lan Cady's 1958 Christmas card which arrived in November, 1959. Lan is now out of the Navy and working for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, N. Y.
