Determined not to be eliminated from the Ivy League race, the Indians entered Yale Bowl in New Haven ready for battle. With 41,974 fans watching from the stands and millions more on TV, the Green scored early and never let up on the pressure.

On the third play of the game, Captain Jim Lemen recovered a Yale fumble on the Eli eight-yard line. Krumme carried the ball to the one and King bucked over on a wedge play for the score.

Early in the second period, the Indians started a drive from the fifty-yard line. Spangenberg drove for nine yards and then King hit substitute end Charlie Greer on a bootleg pass play for 42 yards and a touchdown. Wellstead's kick was good and the score read Dartmouth 14, Yale 0.

But the Indians weren't through scoring. Another Green drive was halted on the Yale eight. So Wellstead stepped back and kicked his second field goal of the season, a 17-yard boot.

The final Dartmouth score came on the first play of the fourth quarter. Once again it was King scoring on the Indians' now standard wedge play. This final touchdown was set up by a 49-yard punt return by Spangenberg, who was finally brought down on the Yale 19.

Yale's only score, with 67 seconds remaining in the game, came on a wellexecuted pass from quarterback Brian Rapp to Hank Hallas and covered 41 yards. Yale also netted a two-point Conversion in spite of a fumble.
