Moving towards the new year, we can still find the majority of our classmates spread across the world, serving the Armed Forces, in one capacity or another, while the rest of us are striving to get ahead - one way or the other — in civilian life. I dare say most of us have indicated that we cannot face this reality alone and have chosen some form of companionship from the weaker sex. Recent examples of this trend will follow.

Dave Heine was married to Lowelle Trexlor, of Newton, Ill.; they will be living in New Haven. Dick Press and Joyce Freedman exchanged vows in October. They have been living in New York City. Also among the newly weds in New York are Don Adams and his bride Dinnah Torrey. Don is associated with Mutual Funds, Channing Corporation.

Denver, Colo., was the setting for the marriage of Paul Clarkin to Sharon Lee McMullan. Paul is presently stationed with the Army at Fort Carson, Colo. They will reside at Colorado Springs.

Heading the list of engagements is Class Agent, Tom Margetts, who has become engaged to Donna Oilman of Summit, N. J. Tom is in his final year at the University of Virginia School of Law.

Dave Foster has completed a four-week chemical-biological-radiological officer course at the Chemical Corps School, Fort McClellan, Ala. Dave's wife, Ann, remained at their home in Mount Clemens, Mich., while he received instruction in radiological defense and protection.

John Hanson has been named associate dean of students at the University of Oregon. John had been head counselor at one of the University's dormitories. His new duties will include being the fraternity advisor at Oregon. John is also continuing study towards his doctoral degree in guidance and counseling.

It is probably no news that Rudy LaRusso is playing one of the starting forward positions for the Los Angeles Lakers, in the NBA. Rudy averaged 14.6 points per game last year and pulled down 781 rebounds. It has been told that Rudy is still growing. He measured 6-6 when he first joined the Lakers, but when he showed up for training this past fall he had grown to 6-7½. Rudy has established his home in Los Angeles and works at the real estate business in the off-season.

Several weekends ago, Linda and I spent our first weekend in Reading since we have lived here and as luck would have it we ran into two '59's Greg Stark, a courier for the Navy, had left many golden opportunities, such as free jaunts to any corner of the world, to make a trip up to Pretzeltown to visit Phil Schmehl, a native, who is working here as a trainee with the American Casualty Insurance Co.

So a word to all you forlorn classmates who are set off in some strange town, grab a directory and you will probably be able to locate several alumni in your area.

I am still in need of material for the column so please feel free to drop a line now and then. You all must be getting tired of nothing but wedding announcements by now.
