Dave Collyer is proving to be a tough man to follow. Just as I got word of his engagement to Irene Kimball in time for last month s issue, in comes an announcement of his wedding to Irene. Married in Brattleboro, Vt., the couple will make their home in Hanover. As I reported last month, Dave continues to work with the Dartmouth Printing Company as advertising and layout man while his bride studies nursing at Mary Hitchcock.

Here's a threshold that I'd like to see: Mike Jar vis, married over the summer to Carol Ann Becken, is living on a houseboat in Portage Bay on Lake Washington while attending the University of Washington Medical School. If you're still surviving on that water, how about a picture, Mike? More engagements and marriages include these: Bob Templeman to Sara Woodford Marple. Bob, now a lieutenant in the Army, was married in Norwalk, Conn. Sara finished Skidmore in January and now, I believe, she's following Bob to Fort Devens He's hard to keep up with also; I heard he was stationed at Fort Benning, then up to Fort Devens, and now - who knows? Ensign Cowell checked in as an usher for Bob. Doug Cooper also joined the ranks of the engaged - his fiancee is Karen Bailey, a junior at Bowling Green. Doug is up in Newport, R. 1., at the Naval OCS. And .. Langdon Scott hung up the track shoes and became engaged to Pamela Ann Taber, daughter of a naval commander. Scotty is down at Quantico training with the Marines Pamela is a student at Green Mountain and I very much doubt whether even her father can make that tough Marine Corps training any easier for Scotty. I understand that Paul Freeman has announced his engagement to Susan White, but further dp tails are lacking. This tip was given to me by Morrie Kramer who also uncovered Al Kravitz for us. Al's at the University of North Carolina at their School of city Planning. A Dartmouth wedding took place in Cambridge, England a little while ago when Tom MacCary was wed to Linda Joan Doran. Tom is over in England studying at Cambridge on a Reynolds. Linda attended Centenary College, and Cornell University School of Nursing. For the wedding, Linda only had to cross the Channel, as she was attending the Cordon Bleu School in Paris

Rick Dickinson, the U.S. Air Force informs us, was selected for the training course at the Officer Training School at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas after post-graduation competitive examina- tions with other college graduates. The Air Force also informs us that Rick made it. He is now wearing the bars of an Air Force ... second lieutenant and has been reassigned to Amarillo Air Force officer3 in TeXas' for training as a supply

Jim Cogswell has checked in from Omaha, Neb., with some news. In his letter, Cogs mentioned meeting up with two classmates - Brig Buettner and Joe Ruwitch. They're both in St. Louis at Washington Medical School. I hope that more of you write in the near future, and when you do, take the example of Jim and send along news of other 63's whom you've seen.

Another loyal writer is Jack Quitter, who filled me in on his travels since graduation. First, Jack went to work with the New York Times Magazine and Book Review sections as a copy officer and researcher. Then the draft started to catch up to Jack, so he'll be in the Army for the six-month program. He'll be out by next October, and then plans to catch up with other classmates already at Cambridge. He will work on another 8.A., this one in Modern History for a two or three year term. Jack tells me that Carl Maves and Pete Israelson, both ot whom are at Oxford, moved into BruceBerman's London apartment over Christmas vacation. Bruce, you'll remember from last month's issue, is studying Anthropology at London School of Economics.

Bill Subln has been keeping both SkipMattoon and me well stocked with news of many 63's. He's been as busy at Columbia Law as I have here at Penn, but is planning class events that you'll all hear about shortly. At any rate, Bill heard from the Suttmeiers - Pete and Merle. They're in Hong Kong, teaching at Chung Chi College and doing other work in that area. I understand that they're keeping Sutts busy making assembly speeches, giving philosophy lectures and editing textbooks. Merle, you'll remember, is teaching also.

More news from Subes: Joe Attonito is engaged to marry Vicki Hammond —no date set yet; Bill Woolley (my old DCR buddy) working with Brooks Brothers where else? Floyd Peterson and Bob Bunnell are studying at Union Theological Seminary; Lee Erdman and Rick Bowes have joined a group of '63's at Columbia Business School; and Mike Vale, Jeff Galper and Andy Horn are at other Columbia graduate schools.

Bob Henderson has established contact from the University of Virginia. He's very much single and un-engaged and working hard at Med School along with Steve Gerry,Bruce Birch, Barrett Johnson, and Dick Briggs '62. (Which all goes to teach me a lesson about rumors.)

Here are a few more notes with varied content Buster Welch, studying at the University of Georgia, continues to make news on these pages. This time, Buster has received a Lions Club scholarship award to help defray costs of his graduate education. Ed Mazer has volunteered to tutor underprivileged children in a program led by the Northern Educational Service in Springfield, Mass.

Yet another classmate has received his post in the Peace Corps. Dave Dawley has been assigned to Honduras for two years after training in New Mexico. I hope Dave can tell us if there is a crew that he can coach, down there. Another award to a '63 — this one to Rick Van Mell in Thayer School's Methods Improvement Course. Collaborating with another engineering student, Rick designed an improved high-temperature torch which won a cash award and plaque from Design News Magazine.

That will do it for another month's column. Keep watching the mails for another of Skip's Newsletters and information from Bill Russell, our Class Agent. And, keep sending those letters. Those that I've already received have been a tremendous help and an invaluable aid in keeping track of everyone.
