The long, hot summer is approaching, and at the same time the class is blazing the last part of that trail which is leading up to another '57 Alumni Fund record. Head Agent, Joe Stevenson, and his hardy crew taskmasters are lining their sights on those of you who have been procrastinating. With the final countdown at hand, it's time to light the fires, jump on the bandwagon and make the '57 contribution to the 1964 A.F. one to remember. Believe me, we have a reputation to maintain - an excellent one.
From Wilmington, Del., comes news that Tom Herlihy has been promoted to the position of Chief Deputy Attorney General. Included in Tom's new set of responsibilities will be his "required" attendance at a conference in Hawaii this month; thus, all '57 Honolulu residents are now alerted to the arrival of the visiting fireman from Delaware. On the domestic front, Tom and wife Connie have one offspring, five-month-old Glenn.
Steve Lampl recently was featured in a Cleveland newspaper feature column which related Steve's role as president of "booming" Lampl Fashions, Inc. Steve has been at the helm of the family garment firm for six years. For all of you with fashion-conscious wives (and what one isn't?), I'm sure that Steve could give your spouses some expert advice on the styles for 1965.

"Man on the move" certainly describes Larry Gardner who now resides in Littleton, N. H. Larry was recently named "Young Man of the Year" by the Littleton Junior Chamber of Commerce. His first loyalty, of course, is to the law firm of Dodge and Moulton where he is an associate. Larry's extracurricular activities must not allow for leisure time because he is a member of a number of key organizations in Littleton. Among these activities, Larry is a director of the Littleton Community Center, has been chairman of the Boy Scout and Red Cross drives, and is a former member of the Littleton School Board. Businesswise, he is a director of the Littleton National Bank, Littleton Cooperative Bank and the Grafton Bar Association. If any of you happen to be going through Littleton this summer, I'm sure you'll have no trouble locating Larry.

Another free-wheeling bachelor, DonWhite, lost his "independence" in April when he married Linda Rollins at Wellesley Hills, Mass. Linda is a 1963 graduate of Hood College. Classmate Dick Burch was an usher at the ceremony and also assisted in the champagne consumption. The bride and groom have settled in Cambridge, Mass.
A summer wedding is being planned for Mai Clarke and Kathryn Heiss who became engaged this spring. Mai currently is associated with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in New York. And with that, I bid you adieu 'til September. For any of you trying to escape the summer heat, why not try a visit to air-conditioned San Francisco, where I can guarantee there will be an official '57 welcoming committee.
