The Memorial Stadium in Hanover has a new addition for this autumn football season - gift from the Class of '36. In August our class chairman, Gil Balkam, formally presented to Coach Bob Blackman a set of Triman pro-type goal posts. These posts are of the modern wishbone design with single base and construction of aluminum and stainless steel. They are not only handsomely functional but add a safety factor to the playing field. Let's hope they help the Big Green toward a successful season.

If you are a magazine reader or just a TV viewer, you might have caught the article on the King Family in the Sept. 6 TV Guide. It took the family tree branch by branch. About Donna it read, "Her husband of 26 years, Jim Conkling, founder of Reprise Records and former president of Columbia Records, is another convert to Mormonism. He seldom appears on the show. There are five twigs to the Conkling branch. Candy, 24 ... is married to car wash entrepreneur Bob Wilson and they have two children, Kristen, 4, and Brook, 2. Jamie, 22, a freckled redhead; Chris, 20, a nonconformist, is in Japan on a mission for the church; Xan (for Alexandra), 18, barely manages to do the King Family Show between choir practice and the second half of the high school basketball game. Laurette at 10 is already a showbiz pro."
In the Sept. 27 Saturday Review under Espionage appeared a fine review of "The Super Spies" by Andrew Tully. The reviewer was Joseph W. Bishop Jr., professor of law at Yale Law School. Before we leave SR, it should be mentioned that one of their staff is now a grandfather. Dick and Madine Morton are the proud grandparents of David Robert born on June 22 in Jacksonville, Fla.

One is the National Ski Hall of Fame in Ishpeming, Mich., the site of the famous ski jump. Among the men honored there is BernWoods of Hanover.
