W. F. K. Fletcher wrote for his father, Edward, who had a serious fall early in the spring and at the time of writing (Sept. 8) was slowly on the mend at the Portland City Hospital. His son says, "his spirits are excellent, his mind is clear and his appetite has yet to fail him. He sent his annual gift to the college and speaks of his love for her."

We regret to report the passing of Mrs.Alice M. Ware on April 30, 1969. She was the widow of our classmate.

Cyril Smith writes that he has trouble with the "relentless monster, bursitis." He continues with wishes for my recovery from the classmates' meeting in Hanover last June. These wishes are reciprocated, Cyril.

A letter from Hermon Farwell tells news of Bess Sanborn, Henniker's widow, who has given up her home in Arcadia, Calif., and has gone to live with her son, at 6707 Noble Ave., Van Nuys, Calif. 91405.

Genevieve Huntingdon, Jimmy's widow, returned to the Hadley home for the summer but will be back at Mt. Holyoke where she is a dormitory head. She expects an interesting year as last year the students were restless, but relatively calm.

I am glad to report that Havenwood Nursing Home put me back on my feet and I was able to get home. With the help of my son Bernard, I have attended two freshman and two Varsity games. I have set my sights on seeing the Cornell game for which I have tickets and if all goes well, I'll be in one of the lower rows.
