It will be only a short time before those who are able will be attending the granddaddy of all reunions, the 70th. It appears now that 1902 has kept it's health and will break all records for attendance. EdStudwell, Chet's son has sent me a clipping from the Hudson, N. Y., paper which is headed, "A swinger at age 92." "He does his thing every Wednesday afternoon along with 11 other companions in the Senior Citizens League at Hendrick Hudson Lanes. He scores over 100 in almost every game and his excellent approach to the foul line shows years of experience in the sport." If our memory serves us correctly, it was just across the Hudson River that Rip Van Winkle did his stuff.
When we think of the changes that have taken place at Dartmouth since we were undergraduates, the emphasis is usually on those physical things we observe with our eyes. Less often do we realize that these are not the only changes. A recent interchange between one of our classmates and a relatively recent graduate may indicate one of these. In closing his letter, the younger man wrote: "Perhaps you knew my grandfather who was a member of your Class?"
The reply closed with the remark; "If you had realized the College as it was in our time, you would not have written, 'perhaps,' you would have said, 'of course.' " It is not the small college of Daniel Webster's time. It is still not a large college and most of those who come to Hanover love Dartmouth.
