One guy who is in part responsible for the elaborate surroundings that make the weekly shopping tour a pleasure is Bop Nightingale who has been appointed publication director of the Executive Editions of Chain Store Age. Bob assumes the post of general chairman of SPECS, Chain Store Age's annual store planning and construction seminar for Chain Store Executives. Bob had been national sales manager for the Supermarket Editions of Chain Store Age. Keep those check-out counters moving, Bob.
Ray Hinds Jr. is helping heat the city of Boston in a very sophisticated way. After attending the Metals Engineering Institute in both Metallurgy and Nuclear Metals, Ray assumed the position of engineer in Fuel Management at Yankee Engineering. His office will remain in Boston. Slow down the "Montreal Express," Ray.
The purse strings at the National Shawmut Bank of Boston are in good hands. Jim Wright has been named vice president of the Trust Division. Jim resides in nearby Concord, Mass.
Dick Bressler has left General Electric after 16 years to become vice president and treasurer of American Airlines. (Free tickets for all classmates?) His most recent position at G.E. was manager of corporate financing, with responsibilities for long-term financial planning, management of the company's marketable securities portfolio, administration of long-term debt issues, and acquisition studies. He is a past president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Northeastern New York.
"Long" Tom Schank has been appointed director of a newly-created department . at Signode Corporation, Corporate Planning and improvement. Tom's new responsibilities will include planning matters of growth, organizational structure, employee relations and profit improvement. In his new capacity Tom will work closely with Signode Board Chairman, J. Leslie and President J. Milton Moon. Signode is the leading producer of steel and non-metallic strapping and machinery for its application.
Tom has been busy in extracurricular activities also. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the York Woods Community. Barbara, Tom and their three children reside at 38 Croydon Lane, Oak Brook. Fine job, Tom!
Julie Robinson, director of Health and Welfare and member of the Community Relations Council of Jersey City Job Corps Center, will be the principal speaker at the 10th official graduation ceremony at the Jersey City Center. Julie has been doing an excellent job in this field. We are all real proud of you, Julie!

Dr. Dick Wilcox has hung his shingle out in New Britain, Conn. After contributing four years of his valuable services to our Air Force, and continuing his medical education, Dick is now practicing in General and Vascular Surgery in New Britain.
We all wish you much success in your new practice, Dick, and congratulate you on your hard work over the years. Dick, his lovely wife Mary, and their three children are living in nearby Kensington, Conn.
It's award time! Dr. Carleton B. Chapwan, a former American Heart Association official, is one of three persons recently named to receive the Gold Heart Award for 1968. His excellent contributions in this field merited national recognition.
