'Tis the season to languish, particularly after the generally rough winter experienced in most parts of the country. While some are emerging slowly from hibernation Dave fast off the mark to get this years Alumni Fund drive into high gear. We can do no less than blanket him with an excellent effort so that he can rest warmly next winter.
Meanwhile the spring thaw has uncovered „ few noteworthy achievements by some of nur dassmates. Among five vice presidents recently named by the Boston-based New England Merchants National Bank we find Prescott M. Clark whose area of specialization is comptroller and finance. Up north a little further, Nashua, N. H to be exact, William W. Bonneville ascended to the position of vice president and treasurer of The Nashua Corp. Last month we recounted the partner-making of Richard D. Lewis at Ernst & Ernst. We aprfogize for omitting (unintentionally) the similar elevation of Robert Levine. Bob, who resides in Ridtoewood N. J., with his wife Barbara and two children, is headquartered m the New York office. After taking his M.B.A. at Tuck he completed Naval Officers' training at Providence, R. I., and Athens, Ga, and then served three years in Japan where his eldest child, Mark, was born.
To Nicholas Dean of Edgecomb, Me., a picture has always been worth a thousand words. Recently Nick became head of the Photography Department of the Portland (Me.) School of Fine and Applied Art. Having majored in Art history at both Dartmouth and Harvard, Nick went on to become technical adviser and research specialist with the Polaroid Corp. and later taught at the University of Minnesota. He continues as a photographic consultant for the U. S. Department of the Interior and his work is in the collections of Museum of Modern Art, Harvard University, Addison Gallery of American Art, The Polaroid Corp., University of Minnesota, and the George Eastman House.
Last month we posed a question concerning Richard T. Leary who was anticipating appointment as Brookline's (Mass.) executive secretary. We are now pleased to report (though we never had any doubts) that his appointment was confirmed and that he now occupies "the town's most powerful municipal post."
Charles A. Morrison served as moderator at the seventh annual Federal and State Taxation Institute at Western New England College in December of last year. Charley is a CPA and partner in the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co., Boston, and received a law degree from Harvard after his M.B.A. from Tuck School. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Massachusetts, Virginia and Louisiana Societies of CPA's, he has been a panelist and speaker before the N.Y.U. Institute on Federal Taxation and the Northeastern University Federal Income Tax Institute. We are sorry not to have reported this news in time for the April 15th tax deadline, but keep it in mind next year if you're in need of expert advice in a very sticky area.
American Oil Company recently announced that Kenneth V. Zwiener of Atlanta had been appointed manager of the central credit card office at Chicago. Ken had tormerly been administrative manager of the Southern sales region having joined the company in 1956 as a financial trainee.
Dave Grogan has transferred his allegiance to Cooper Laboratories, Bedford Hills, N. Y., where he is now general manager of the personal products division. His responsibilities include Cooper Lab's proprietary drug and other personal care products operations. He was formerly group product director of the Whitehall Laboratories Division of American Home Products Corporation. In spite of his new job, it seems that he and Ann and daughter Parry Lee will stay in Southfield Point, Conn.
