Spring has sprung at least here in the Boston area. There is still much good skiing in the north and we will try to make it to Tuckerman's for the Harvard-Dartmouth Slalom. I've run into Tom Colby just about every weekend up at Stowe. He looks like a strong candidate for the next Olympic team. Tom is living in Syracuse paying for those exorbitantly priced lift tickets selling legal textbooks.

Bridging the generation gap can be exceedingly difficult in this day and age, but one who seems to be getting through is Rev.David Glendinning. Since 1963 Dave has held the position of Youth Director for the Episcopal diocese, rector of St. John's parish in Southwest Harbor and vicar of St. Andrew's at Seal Cove in Maine. He was one of the directors and participants in an interdenominational meeting attended young people of each denomination. Initially, there was some preliminary sparring and tooting of our respective horns, but this was soon set aside for some real communication. Once we realized that we weren't there for conversion purposes then the young people began to talk among themselves. And it was real talk, not just surface amenities of 'safe topics.' It was fun to watch the young people unlimber themselves and to discuss some of the things that were really on their minds."
