The annual '2B mid-winter class meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the Dartmouth Club of New York at the Hotel Commodore. This early announcement is made in the hope that many who live at a distance will schedule business or vacation trips so that you can attend this reunion. Bill Hobson has agreed to be chairman of the dinner committee again this year. In addition to classmates from New England, Pennsylvania and District of Columbia, there will be representatives from Hawaii and Florida.

The thirteenth annual '28 fall reunion in Hanover the October 10 weekend was one of the best possible reunions because of the combination of large attendance, perfect weather, fall foliage, and a resounding victory over Princeton. Even the DCAC contributed to our enjoyment by alloting seats in mid-field.

Ever since these reunions started, we have been grateful to our fall reunion chairman, Herb Sensenig, and Sumner Evans, Norwich Inn manager, for the exclusive use of the Ranger Room at the Norwich Inn as our gathering place Friday night and Saturday afternoon and evening. Our private bus takes us from the Inn to Memorial Field—no parking problems or missed kick-offs.

At least 60 classmates attended the game. After the game the following attended the '28 cocktail party-dinner: George and Paula Bell of Washington, D. C., Clark and Marion Blyth, who are enjoying their retirement home in Norwich, John and Ethel Nixon, George Emery and guest, Betty Breyfogle, Jack and Fran Kenerson, Jack and Nancy Heston, Monk and Virginia Davenport, Jerry and Doris Goodwin, Cal and Genie Billings, Craig and Eleanor Haines, Lane and Betty Dwinell, Jack and Grace Phelan, John and Peggy Phillips, Curley and Allene Prosser, Wes and Dorris Wood, Joe and Margaret Tidd, Park and Sue Estabrook, Herb and Mimi Sensenig, your secretary and Mary, and Les Mason and guest Al Hilton. Budd and Mibs Maring had dinner with the gang at the Norwich Inn Friday night but had to start home right after game. Others who sat near us at the game but also had to leave right afterward included Tim and Virginia Paige, Rusty and Arlene Philbrick, Jack and Peg Zellers, Hammie and Gracia Hammesfahr.

The Class executive committee met all Saturday morning with President JackKenerson presiding. In addition to confirming plans for the Jan. 27 dinner in New York, the committee appointed Cal Billings and George Emery as co-chairmen for our 45th reunion, and had a thorough discussion of other class matters, including reports from treasurer Haines and your secretary.

Red Edgar retired Oct. 31 as vice president of the Middlesex County National Bank, Everett, Mass. Red is a former president of '28 and also served as president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston.

United Fruit Company's representative in Guatemala, Dana Condon, retired Oct, 1 after more than 42 years with that company: 17 in Costa Rica, 11 in Havana and 14 in Guatemala. After visiting relatives near his birthplace in New Hampshire ("God's best state" says Dana), he and Verna stayed with their daughter, Joan, in Philadelphia, and are now in Sarasota while they "fine-tooth-comb Florida for a suitable place in which to plant our roots."

Retirements seem to be our chief source of news. Jim Newton, after 30 years with New England Telephone, has started a new career by joining the firm of Palmer Russell Co., realtors, of Brookline, Mass.

Glen Lutey is still a member of the faculty of the University of Washington, but is on leave and has asked for retirement this fall, bringing to an end 39 years of teaching. During 20 of those years he was director of the Division of General Studies.

Don Solis, recently retired from Cities Service Oil Co., is looking for a place to settle in the Sarasota, Fla., area.

Jim McConnon and Cynthia moved from St. Paul, Minn., where he was an investment banker, to Tucson, Ariz., Oct. 1 and bought a house there. In a letter dated Nov. 1, he says he went to the Dartmouth Club luncheon the day before and he and Hod Carver had the pleasure of helping elect John Harlow as the new president. Jim says he has been quail and deer hunting and is happy to be able to continue his favorite hobby. There are now six '28ers in Tucson: Jim, Hod, John, GaylerdLeslie, John Hay, and Al McCune.
