Please accept your secretary's apologies for a very short column this month. The press of business has prevented the usual scrounging of bits and pieces of news and—let's face it—the mail bag is empty.

Walt Daggatt made the top of the ladder with his election as chairman of the board of Alpac Corporation, a soft drink business with production and merchandising centers in Seattle, Tacoma, Anchorage, and Hono-lulu. The firm is the largest soft drink franchise holder in the nation in terms of geographic market area, and one of the leading beverage producers in the U. S. in total sales volume. Walt and his wife Marge have three sons, Andrew, Scott and Russell, and reside in Bellevue, Wash.

In his new position as Vice President for Corporate Development of Bigelow-Sanford, Inc., Frank Hartmann will be responsible for the development of long-range plans for the company's present and future business opportunities. Hank went to Bigelow from Monsanto Company where he had handled carpet fiber sales and marketing programs. The new v.p. began his work in home furnishings marketing at the Toronto Carpet Mfg. Co. in 1951 after receiving an MBA degree from Harvard. Hank and his wife Margot, who have five daughters, are living in Roslyn Harbor,

Paul Young advises that Harry Gustafson passed through Hanover recently and is looking well. Paul also noted that our three members of the Alumni Council Kelly Coffin, George Munroe, and Connie Young are expected in Hanover for the January Alumni Council meeting.

The remaining news is also from New England: Tom Gerber, editor of the Concord, N. H., Monitor, appears to be on a speech-making tour around New Hampshire; Bob Clark, Mayor of Keene, has received a resolution of thanks for the City's hospitality for the 200th Anniversary of the Dartmouth Trustees; and MartinBorofsky is hale and hearty and doing well with his store in Claremont.

To close out a skimpy column, we reiterate that there will be a "First Annual Dartmouth Alumni Ski Weekend" in Hanover on March 6 and 7—the complete package for lodging at the Hanover Inn on Friday and Saturday night, dinner both nights and two days of skiing at the Skiway—$80 per couple all inclusive.
