A letter from Everett Goodhue, 1900 Secretary, enclosing one from Mrs. Redington tells of the misfortune of Cyril Smith. It was in January or February that he was robbed, beaten and left without clothes on the streets of Boston. More information than that, we do not have, but my son hopes to pay him a visit on one of his Boston trips.
Happier news was the visit from ChetStudwell, who was flown to Hanover by his son Ed (Class of 1931). President Chet and I talked about the '70th reunion, which we will celebrate in June 1972. I shall make investigations as to our accomodations, as soon as I have some indication of the number who will be able to attend.
Chet's son, Ed, was a member of Red Rolfe's class and the baseball field was rededicated in Red's memory. The class of '31 gave a plaque which was unveiled between the double header with Harvard.
I attended the Dartmouth-Massachusetts baseball game on Friday, April 30, thanks to the kindness of Mrs. Seaver Peters (wife of the Graduate Manager of Athletics) whose delightful daughters visit me frequently, but due to a tumble on a walk around the Convalescent Center, I didn't get to the Harvard double header.
I was not able to attend the class officers' meeting, so here is our small indication of appreciation for the co-operation given us by the retiring Barbara Hayward. Her assistance has made this column and every secretary's report just that much better.
