With class news becoming scarcer than a pretty Mary Hitchcock nurse on the Thursday night before Winter Carnival, I implore you all to drop me a note with news about yourself or other '64's. A class column without news is like Moe without a keg, or Edith without advice, or Hal without "ice-a'-fudge," or the "Thayer Rat Lady" without her sugar cannister....

But I digress. Robert Rose M.D., was recently promoted to the rank of major at Fort Riley, Kans., where he is an anesthesiologist at Irwin Army Hospital. Bob's lovely wife, Elizabeth, is with him at the Fort.

Speaking of Army doctors, newly-commissioned Captain Garth Gregory has recently completed a four-week Army Medical Department Officer Basic Course at the Medical Field Service School of the Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Garth may now be reached in care of the 279th Station Hospital, APO, New York, N. Y. 09742.

Charles Marsh and his charming wife have announced the adoption of daughter Melissa Lee Marsh on July 31. Melissa was born on July 10, and is undoubtedly a source of joy in the Marsh household.

Dennis Mithaug received a grant last spring from the Office of Education to investigate experimentally the social conditions that will improve the learning and performance of handicapped children. Dennis has earned his M.A. and Ph.D degrees, and is currently a research associate at the Child Development and Mental Retardation Center at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Mild-mannered, management-minded Pete Thomsen, (oft remembered as Sigma Nu's answer to Pete Rozelle), has been named Associate Director of Marketing for the Cambridge Research and Development Group, headquartered in Westport, Connecticut. Pete was previously Group Product Manager for New Market Development at Avon Products, and a Senior Account Executive for J. Walter Thompson on the Scott Paper account. The Cambridge Group was organized in 1966 to bridge the gap between a new idea or invention and a successfully marketed product.

That does it to the class news bag. Please write soon and let me know what you're up to. Letters from wives, secretaries, sweet-hearts, and parents of '64's will be welcomed, too. Later.
