Perry Butler wrote recently to bring me up to date to on several major changes in his nest. First of all, since he has left the Green he has trimmed down considerably, now tipping the Toledos at a scant 150 He has also given up the Kools; consequently, he is no longer the "Penguin" whom we all knew in our youth. Also, Perry's lovely wife has changed her name to Katherine, (her erstwhile middle name), having tired of "Twinks." But perhaps most importantly Perry and Katherine are now the proud parents of a child: Lucius Perrin Butler. Perry's business, a popular San Francisco bar called Perry's, is in its third year of operation. Perry reports that Brad Evansand Clint Roenisch visited him last spring with their wives, and Clint hustled Perry badly at the Olympic Club golf course. Perry wants me to warn the Class that Clint plays just about every day, and is a dangerous competitor.
Bob Engelman dropped a note from his abode in Northwood, Middlesex, about 25 miles outside of London. Bob currently serves as manager of the London branch of the American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago. He and his charming wife Ronnie have four children, and invite any '64's who are sojourning in London to Stop by.
Walton Smith happily reports that by the time this column gets to press, he will be mustered out of the Army after four and one-half years with the Judge Adjutant General Corps. Walton is already on terminal leave, and is working in the office of the General Counsel of the National Railroad Passenger Corporation in Washington, D. C. He and his new bride Susan plan to stay in the Washington area for some time.
Marty Echter graduated from the George Washington National Law Center last June, and is now clerking for Hon. Barrington D. Parker, Judge in the U. S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Chris Palmer's lovely wife Suzanne reports that the Palmers will probably be in Paris for two more years. Chris is with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., and would be delighted to hear from any '64's who are passing through.
Jim and Betsy Cornehlsen are still living in Mexico City, where Jim works for McGraw Hill. They have recently become parents for the first time with the arrival of young James Bryan Cornehlsen. The Cornehlsens, too, extend their hospitality to '64's who are traveling through.
Fred Corrigan is alive and well in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He and Glenda are the proud parents of a baby girl Amy born last March.
Speaking of Amy, my spies tell me that Jay Reagan's charming wife has recently blessed him with their second child, a girl. Congratulations to the Reagans may be addressed to their new abode in Princeton.
Barry Shultz is currently serving as Medical Officer on the USS Concord. He has recently returned from a cruise in the Mediterranean, and reports that he is the proud father of a daughter, Jennifer Lynn, born last April.
Charles "CG" Williams is currently a commercial lending officer at the Pittsburgh National Bank. He and his wife Cassandra have a son who is slated for the Class of 1991
My spies tell me that the impossible has occurred in Peoria. "B. J." Batchelder, fantastic Phi Palace Goodguy and scion of a prominent Illinois advertising family, has reportedly tied the big knot, thus ending nearly 30 years of glorious "batchelderhood." As we go to press, nothing is known of the winsome lass that captured B. J.'s heart save her name—Carol.
That's about it for the class news bag. Please take a moment to drop me a line with news about yourself or other 64's. Later.
