Winter is on its way once more. The color of autumn has failed and the storm windows are up. Stop in and spend a day on the way to the slopes.

The fall again saw 62's at the games. Dave Gundy was his usual gracious self the Harvard weekend. Dave spent the summer in the Solomon Islands doing research work on native diseases. The good doctor said the equipment was primitive, but the experience wonderful. Bob Quay put in an appearance. Also seen on the banks of the Charles were Gary and BetsySpiess. Boston seems to agree with them. John Lamar was seen at the Columbia game, having made the trip from Connecticut. Well, at least the crew keeps in touch.

Ann Evans sent us a wonderful letter from 64 Crestview Drive in Holden, Mass. She and Dave now have two children (Glenn, 2 and Jennifer, 5½), and managed to make the Harvard game and the gathering at the cage after the game. Dave has been quite ill for some time and is now at the V. A. Hospital in West Roxbury, Mass., where he has been, except for an occasional outing, for over a year. Ann says that letters, notes and visits from classmates and friends are a great help. There is a lot of courage there.

Another to find his way home to Hanover is Al Cook, who is now a college employee. Al is an associate in the office of the secretary with the specific responsibility of coordinating the job placement program for undergraduates with alumni clubs. Al and Mary Jane are hiding out in Etna, N. H., with their two children.

Remember Mike Slive? Well, no more is it Mike, but rather Judge Slive, as Gov. Peterson has named Mike the associate justice of the Hanover District Court. Wonder how tough he'll be on the students? Speaking of Mike, he asked that I announce that a woman's silver Bulova watch was found at the '62 tent during the Reunion. Call 1-603-643-3737 to make a claim.

Down at Amherst, Mass., Hampshire College is making big news with a foreward look in education. Serving as coordinator of the faculty is Bill Marsh. Bill landed in Amherst in 1969 following a tour of Talladega College in Alabama where he was chairman of the mathematics department.

Catching up on the news department: Carl and Helen Jaeger announce the birth of Michael Vaughn Jaeger on 11/4/72. The family is in Ardsley, N. Y., from where he commutes to N.Y.C. where he is director of sales for Time-Life Books.

Bill Jones says he married Dawn in 1967 and they now have two children, Alice and Owen. Bill is a barrister with the Agency for International Development where he landed after three years of private practice.

King Embry informs us that John andMadeline Cushman now reside in Minneapolis with their three daughters. John is an attorney for the Dayton-Hudson Co.

Phil Cantelen is now teaching history at William College where he found himself after picking up a Ph.D. in history from Indiana University. His dissertation is natural for you John Birchers. "In Defense of America: Congressional Investigations of Communist Activities in the U. S., 1919-1935."

Now that the election fever has abated (it seems to last forever here in N. H.), we leave you with a choice among three Massachusetts bumper stickers a) Mass., Love it or leave it; b) Mass., the Lone Star State; c) As Mass. goes, so goes the District of Columbia.

See you next month.
