Well, October brought on the crackling autumn days in New Hampshire and some crackling in Washington. It's marvelous to live in such historical times.
The Big Green is experiencing some lean days, but the familiar bodies in the stands are filled with the same old spirits.
Some more shorties, but goodies.
Howard Weinberg has left WABC-TV to hook up with WNET-TV in New York. Howie joins "Bill Moyer's Journal" as a producer. This news is courtesy of Variety and the Dartmouth Film Society. Any more to add Howie?
Down in New Jersey Bob Scott is still busy inflating land values. Bob is president of R. E. Scott Co. which specializes in property management and land development. Recently Bob was inducted in the Westfield Board of Realtors. This, along with being a member of the faculty of the Realtors Institute of New Jersey and president of the Eastern Union Board of Realtors, keeps Bob pretty well occupied.
Every time I think the wedding bells have passed us by, someone new takes the plunge. Latest to go is Ed Robb who exchanged I Do's with Katherine Susan Schuller. Ed is busy with the law practice in Savannah where he landed following graduation from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Another southerner is John Shaw who is busy with I.B.M. in Raleigh, Va. John headed there as a program administrator after eight years in Arlington, Va.
Eagerly awaiting the Cornell game and a guaranteed 50-yardline seat is Marsh Potterton. Only news we have is that his wife is Susan and he is a securities salesman somewhere in Missouri.
A note from Ernie Neighbor tells us he's married to Diane and is a senior resident orthopaedic surgeon at the Kansas Medical Center.
A name from the past is Parker Harris. Parker is doctoring expectant mothers as an ob-gyn resident at Wesson Women's Hospital in Springfield Mass. After leaving Hanover early Parker finished up at the University of Maine and the School of Medicine at the University of Vermont. So while in West Springfield drop in at 37 Sherwood Ave. and visit Parker, Penny, Susan, and Nancy.
Phil Roy has left the security of the military to set up a private surgical practice in St. Paul. Haven't heard much from Phil since the hat trick at Harvard a few years back.
Perhaps the only physician team in the Class is Ben and Renee Vogel. Renee is a president in pathology at Miriam Hospital in Providence where Ben is chief resident in ob-gyn at the Providence Lying In Hospital. The on the job training has resulted in David, Joshua, and Celina.
Maybe the doctors in the Class should have their own reunion. Jeff Thomas has just wound up his orthopaedic residency at the University of Wisconsin and has started an orthopaedic surgery practice. Wife Ann and children Gretchen, Greg, and Megan assist at the home front.
Another contributing to the AMA is BruceFeldman who has just completed his first year of private practice of ear, nose, and throat problems in Washington, D.C. Because of all the stink down there the nose business must be pretty good (ouch). Bruce and Sherry report they ran into Sonny Kabler recently. Word is that Sonny is in South America (Caracas) campaigning to be commissioner of baseball.
The best to each of you from New England. Hope your Thanksgiving is warm and cheerful. Also hope that you'll take a minute in the holiday season to drop Dave Evans a note. Dave is still confined at the V.A. Hospital in Roxbury, Mass.
