My most sincere, least sarcastic apology to all anxious to learn news about '69s who had to wait as three issues of this timely Magazine passed. My wife jean and I travelled throughout the Pacific for the past three deadlines, the column having been left in the hands of a ghost writer. Unfortunately, the ghost maintained an invisible column.

Fear not, you three. I have returned. Tanned, svelte, and single, except for the latter.

So here goes, you anxious amiables.

Let's start chronologically with Mike Stratton, whose neatly printed epistle I received early in December, i will have to quote him; some of his jargon escapes me.

I have just finished my second fall of directing 'he Bounders Program (Outward Bound for 9-12year-olds) at this [The Carroll] school.

This winter, I am going to grad school' in Bath, Maine, at the Apprenticeship for Small, Wooden Boatbuilding. We will be building dories and Crotch island pinkys.

"In January, I will be joining some Outward Bound friends who are sailing around the world. I will spend a month sailing the island chain in the Caribbean - then back to Bath and boat-building til spring."

From Battling Bob Sturges comes a plethora of info. Bob reports that he himself entered Marital Bliss in August, marrying Nancie Schneider (UMass '69). Steve Adams best manned, while Bill Donovan and John Twist '68 ushered BobWagner, Bob Lundquist, and Bill Stableford. Bob claims the wedding was "a real '69 affair." Bob will complete Rutgers Law in May and then clerk for a New Jersey Appellate Division judge. So he thinks.

Bob also reports that Steve Adams lives in Jamaica, where he cranks out novels. Publication, it seems, is not distant. Catch Steve on the Merv Griffin Show. Bill Donovan slaves for a Manchester, N.H., law firm. Bob Lundquist is completing Number 3 at U of Ariz Law, while Bill Stableford studies psych graduately at You Vee-Em. Thanks for the letter, Bob.

Tully Mott picked up a degree from Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, the only institution in the USA devoted solely to the preparation of Uncle Sam's finest for international careers. On to Peking.

Don't dwell on that one, because this next item defies belief. If you remember Bill Owen, raise your hand. If you do not, refer to your December 72 issue. In that memorable magazine's '69 column. Bill was described as the fellow who "became managing director of Northstar Industries' NY office." At that time, he was seen "on Wall Street wearing a white buttoned-down shirt, gray suit, and narrow-striped tie."

Well, either someone is making it easy for me to write this garbage or Bill Owen will own this country in a few months. In January, Bill was named a VP of Northstar, a company specializing in acquisitions and mergers. If you need a loan, try Bill, who, I hope, has a keen sense of humor.

Equally browlifting is the saga of Bob McGuire, the source of which I would only divulge to a grand jury. Bob summered in Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia after graduation, then snapped up a masters in Slavic languages at Berkeley. In '70-'71 Bob studied at Charles U in Prague (tanks. Bob). After returning to the US in late '71, he formed an international burlap cartel, cornering the world market, forcing the price of burlap up to $125 per ounce, and causing Uganda to go off the burlap standard. Actually, Bob returned in '71 but his behavior until last summer was so confidential that my source omitted it. Last ete. Bob again went to Europe, this time via the groove he had worn in the Atlantic, to teach English, of all things, in Gmund. Austria (pronounced awestree-uh).

Last, and probably least, a postcard has been received from none other than KIP, our revered valedictorian, who refused to divulge any tidbits without an off-the-record guarantee. Sorry, KIP. No deal. I have my readers to think about. If you are a KIP fan, at least you know that he lives.

One more thing: SEND INFO.
