Charlie Pineo has gone to great lengths over the past few years. Charlie and wife Linda (Mt. Holyoke '69) recently returned from seven months abroad teaching, studying, and touring the Pacific. The first five were occupied by teaching at the Institute for International Mineral Resources Development on the slopes of Mt. Fuji. During the other two, the Pineos travelled from Hong Kong to Australia. They crossed Australia by train, stopping in mining camps at Kalgoorlie, Kambalda, and Broken Hill. Then on to New Zealand, where they backpacked on the south island, before returning home to Menlo Park, Calif. Charlie is now finishing up an MBA at Stanford while looking for a job with a major oil or mining concern. Linda is completing her M.A. in music, also at Stanford.

Charlie also passes along this information about fellow sixty (forty?) - niners. CharlieEriksson is alive, well, and married in Salt Lake City, where he skis and climbs in his spare time. Jason Knapp is reportedly at home for the moment, after wandering all over the globe. SteveHoelsher geologes in Hayden, Ariz. Jim Ross, based in Toronto, is prospecting in the Northeast and Canada.
