Again we would remind you that the deadline is fast approaching for this year's alumni fund contributions - Fred Lent and his boys will be contacting you.

Bud Miskell writes from Falmouth, Mass., that the recent Falmouth Cancer Tennis Doubles Tournament had eight Dartmouth graduates participating including Bud and Doc Fielding. Bud played in Division I with DaveBurwell '69, Brian Burwell '73, Dana Miskell 75, Bert Rodman '49, and Ted Amaral '66. Division II included Doc Fielding and Swift Lawrence '55. Bud and Bert Rodman beat the Burwells in the quarter finals but lost to Dana and his non-Dartmouth partner in the semifinals. Doc and his non-Dartmouth partner lost a long three-set match that included a tiebreaker. As Bud says "when Doc got off the court, he knew that he had been in a battle." Bud says that Doc and Sue have a condominium in Falmouth and come down weekends. Bud is a year-rounder and when not playing tennis, runs The Wood Lumber Company in Falmouth.

Charlie Donovan sends a clipping from a California newspaper - that Donovan sure travels - to the effect that Bus and PatMosbacher's son Richard, a senior at Stanford University, will take unto himself a wife, one Nancy Jane Ditz of Atherton, Calif. Further north, 43's Oregon Governor Bob Straub has proposed legislation to create an Oregon power authority in a move to reduce electricity cost for Oregon residential and rural customers. It's nice to see one of our '43s trying to cut costs for consumers.

On the distaff side, Ken Sorlien's better half. Chip, writes that the Dartmouth Women's Club of Boston — of which she is president — is seeking to raise funds for their scholarship fund. Their goal is to raise $1,000 each year and, according to Chip, they have been succeeding for 45 years. Active membership in the club includes "women who hold a degree from Dartmouth College and women whose fathers, brothers, sisters, husbands, sons, or daughters hold a degree from Dartmouth College." Anyone interested in contributing or helping out should contact Chip. In fact the club has for sale an original cookbook which was compiled, published, and sold by the club members.

That's it for the year. Have a good summer.
