I got a nice note from our illustrious chairman, Dave Mandelbaum, reporting on the New York Alumni Association dinner in March. There was a good group of '54s in attendence, including Tony and Barbara Kane, Lo-y andMildred Chan and their children, Dave Metz,Frank Weiser, Paul Martin, Jerry Goldstein, and of course. Dave Mandelbaum. The program included the Glee Club and President John Kemeny. I don't know who sang a better tune.

Bill Petty has recently been appointed vice president of marketing and sales for Timex Corporation. Bill has been marketing director for Timex. In his new position he will be in charge of worldwide marketing and sales, reporting directly to the president. Bill joined Timex in March of 1975 from the position of the senior marketing executive at Associates Corporation of North America, a financial services subsidiary of Gulf & Western Industries. Prior to that he had spent 13 years with Proctor and Gamble, ending with a five-year stint as associate advertising manager. Bill and family live in Fairfield, Conn.

The last time I saw Shelly Woolf at a Boston get-together, he couldn't have been happier. Now I understand why - after his company "National Hardgoods Distributors, Inc." reported record results for the year ending in January 1976. With those kind of results no wonder Shelly did spend the month traveling in Europe and through the western United States. Keep smiling, Shelly!

Norm Kasparson has been made assistant vice president and counsel by the board of directors of State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America in Worcester, Mass. Norm earned his law degree from Harvard Law in 1960 and joined the company's title department that same year. He lists memberships in the Association of Life Insurance Counsel, the Worcester County and American Bar Associations, and the Worcester County Dartmouth Club.

If you're a movie fan you have to be aware of the new film by Bob Rafelson, Stay Hungry. It has been reviewed extremely favorably. The film was directed by Bob Rafelson, co-produced by Bob Rafelson, and written by Bob Rafelson in conjunction with the author of the original novel, Charles Gaines. After Bob's productions of Five Easy Pieces and King of MarvinGardens, one expects only the best from a Rafelson film. According to Rona Barrett, Time Magazine, and numerous , other critics, Stay Hungry is up to the Rafelson reputation.

A recent article in The New Englander magazine shows another '54 is cleaning up. JimTofias is treasurer of "Street-Ad", a company selling advertising space on waste receptacles being set up in streets in Boston. According to the write-up, Jim's company is cleaning up the city streets while getting advertisers a new lowcost medium - litter receptacles. Jim is proving himself a great chemist - he's making money on trash!

Looks like Don Keller's timing is great. Don's star is rising at Keystone Custodian Funds at the same time that the stock market is rising. Don has recently been appointed fund manager for the Keystone S-3 Fund, one of the largest mutual funds in the country. With a son at Dartmouth, it must be nice to be rolling in money, Don!

If you haven't made your reservations for our mini-reunion during the Harvard weekend, it may still be time to do so. Don't forget that the Class has had a block of rooms set aside at the Woodstock Inn and there will be several class events for that weekend. It is homecoming weekend in Hanover and your whole family should enjoy being there. It is the weekend of October 15 and 16. A great time to be in Hanover!
