"Dartmouth 1958 - good news," writes Katharine Prescott, widow of Bill Prescott. Their son has been accepted at Dartmouth, making it three generations of Prescotts to enroll at the College. Congratulations to both mother and son.

Another happy item is the announcement of Ed Burn's engagement to Winthrop Reid. Miss Reid is vice president of an office furniture company and a Briarcliff College graduate. Ed is senior vice president of Paine Webber Mitchell Hutchins International Inc. "A late January wedding is planned," so best wishes to bride and groom are probably appropriate at this late date.

Ron Snow has accepted the chairmanship of the Class .Nominating Committee for the 20th reunion selection of class officers in June. Any '5B interested in serving on the Executive Committee should drop Ron a note at Orr & Reno, Box 709, Concord, N.H. 03301.

The selection of Gershen Abraham as executive vice president and chief operating of- ficer of Spotnails Inc. was recently announced by Swingline, the parent company. Spotnails manufactures industrial fastening products.

The news releases quoting Rink DeWitt, speaking as president of the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire, cover a variety of commercial subjects. The central thrust is that New Hampshire has a "terrific business climate." Rink also heads the Manchester Bank.

Christmas came a bit early for Don Brenner and wife Ginette. A son was born December 19, 1978. Ginette writes that they also have a 12-year-old son. Don is president of Metro Oil & Chemical Corporation, vice-chairman of The Trust Company of New Jersey, and a trustee of Englewood Hospital. Knowing Don, he has probably also regained his touch for changing diapers after that significant interlude.

In early January Ralph Manuel and Joel Portugal gathered a remarkable turnout of classmates for a mini-reunion in Los Angeles. The arrangements were handled by DanShagrin, Joe Scott and Pete Kenny. BarryStompe, a TWA pilot, was able to drop in between scheduled runs to Paris. Al Freeman, subject of much recent publicity for his pioneering market research leading to the conceptualization of the "Superman" films, came in from Hollywood. Lawyers Mike Welch from San Diego and Fred Kosmo and Phil Drescher from the Ventura area also showed up. Others attending included A 1 Gazzaniga, Ben McAdams, Chuck Hurewitz, Bart Apfelbaum, Eric Horter, Stu Clark, Jim Kelly, Tom Towse and Coleman Colla.

When work and winter get me down, I dream of sipping a cool brew beside a striped tent on a warm twilight evening. Somewhere a band is playing. I listen to the half-forgotten voices of old friends. In floodlit splendor, Dartmouth Row shimmers in the background. Be there. June 15-17, 1979.
