No more complaints about a lack of letters; Santa came early for me with plenty of mail.

John Krick Jr. wrote that he and his wife, Lisa Whitcomb (Mount Holyoke '77), recently became parents for the first time. According to papa John, young Evan has a rather unique cheer not found in the official College songbook, but certainly reminiscent of someone on the warpath. Classmates have been quick to send Evan plenty of cards and gifts, and Brian Buckly has gone so far as to baby-sit. Evan's birth prevented his folks from attending the TomRuegger-Adrienne Alexander nuptials. However, ushers Chuck Reach, Bob (Boris)Fisher, and Parker (Speedy) MacDonnell did stop at the hospital to pay their respects. (Ever wonder why 99 per cent of Dartmouth people have nicknames? Probably aliases.)

Also from the mailbag: Dennis Albaugh has joined BCI Geonetics Inc. in Laconia, N.H., as a remote-sensing specialist. Dennis has worked in England, New York, Canada, Colorado, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. He also obtained an M.S. in geophysics and remote-sensing from Cornell. Dennis will be a member of BCI's groundwater exploration team, which will develop high-yield sources of water for municipalities and industry. As long as they don't divert the waters of the mighty Merrimac from its appointed course to the Bud brewery I won't complain.

And now for what I'm sure will be a monthly feature, although it may be outdone by baby announcements the wedding rundown. This month's happy couple is Dave Magnus and Jody Karp, who were married last May. The attendance list sounds like a reunion: P. Windrath, D. Samson '37, D. Reesee '78, J. Le Moal '75, M. Greenstein '75, Andy Gettinger, Ron Keenhold (swimming coach), Paul CaneMary Walkush Beach, Stephanie Valar, Jim Gilford '29, N. Bird '77, T. Hable '75, J. Schuetz Lowe, M. Beach (Tuck '79), W. Macdonald, T. McManus, I. Kramer '32, T. Eckels '77, T. Pollard '77, and D. O'Brien '77. Reports are that a good time was had by all.

President Josh Josselyn reports that the class gift which goes to each year's outstanding female athlete is now fully funded. Suggestions are now being entertained for new projects. Proposals received so far include furnishing free beanies to incoming freshmen each fall and Todd Morris's idea to repaint all the sculptures on campus. Send your ideas to Josh or me.

One unfortunate note that's hard to believe knowing the people in our class is that we are dead last in Alumni Fund participation. Even the classes just out of school do better. JohnGleason has volunteered to take over the reins as head agent with special consultation from assistant head agent Cathy Joyce Brennan. They'll be contacting each of us, I'm sure, and when they do, please try to give a little. Remember, it's participation not dollar totals we're shooting for. Heck, last year I sent in my entire collection of hilarious anecdotes and got credit only for the value of the recycled paper.

That's it . . . keep those cards and letters coming and have a nice holiday.
