The Class of 1910 has not really lost a secretary; it has gained a spouse. Early in December I received a letter from Karen Eastman saying that she was to be married to an old friend of hers and Whitney's with whom they had gone on birding expeditions, Mr. John Galley. They had the same interest in ornithology and nature, and on some of their trips they had visited at each other's home. His wife was an invalid, whom-they enjoyed seeing until she died some time ago. John was a geologist, with the Shell Oil Company, and is now retired. The wedding occurred on January 10 in Minneapolis among family and a few friends, and Karen and John are now living at El Coto de los Rincones, 1600 Sheppard Rees Road (P.O. Box 46), in Kerrville, Tex. 78028.
Marie-Louise Melvin (daughter of Louis Langell) has reported a change of address: 5323 SW 53rd Court, Portland, Ore. 97221. She says, "We moved to the west hills so that we'd be closer to our boys and their families. We're in a lovely townhouse in a secluded area. We enjoy it very much - many birds about." Marie-Louise produces a lovely handmade Christmas card which it is a joy to receive.
Ray Sheets's note on his Christmas card says, "I am approaching 92, and after two operations I am feeling better than I have in two years." That's good news, Ray.
Karen and I both feel that because of the lack of news from the class, both "Tenner Topics" and the. MAGAZINE class notes would be better brought out at such times as there is news to pass on, rather than on a regular monthly basis.
