After our mid-winter hiatus, the column returns with some news of your classmates. Since the College has terminated its clipping service (which used to provide a good, if infrequent, source of news) I have to rely almost solely on letters from you for information about the accomplishments of your family and those of your classmates, so please drop me a line so I can spread the glad tidings.

Walter Peterson is the leader of a group that has launched plans for a new TV station in southern New Hampshire. This station will have an unusual format in that it will broadcast up to 100 hours per week of local news, sports, and public information programming. Its object is to fill a void in the coverage of local events from Ayer, Mass., to north of Concord, N.H., an area populated by more than 693,000 people.

George Johnston of Wellsley Hills represented Dartmouth at the inauguration of Robert Vincent McCarthy as, the eighth president of Boston State College.

In a recent change of leadership at the Proctor and Gamble Cos., Owen B. Butler was appointed chairman of the corporation. Owen, who was vice chairman, has been with Proctor and Gamble since 1945 and a director since 1972. As chairman he will direct all staff activities, all industrial products, and the Canadian and Asian operations.

A letter from Ham and Dotty Chase rounds out this month's news. "Our son Fred and wife Van live in Newport, R.I., where he is on the board of the Newport Historical Society. Susan ('80) graduated in August and is also working in Newport. She hopes to be able to train in sports medicine which requires a medical degree. We also have a senior veterinarian (Tom), a farmer (David), a landscape architect (Carol) - all married - plus Bobby, a University of New Hampshire junior." Sounds like a great family in the Chase tradition.

By the time you receive this it will be Alumni Fund time again, so do your best for Frank Weber, the class of '47, and Dartmouth.
