In a previous issue we reported that Don Bartlett had been invited to Japan to address the Foundation for American Studies, which he was instrumental in forming 20 years ago, upon the observance of its 20th anniversary. He was cordially received and his talk was interesting to the group which he addressed, composed of influential members of the academic and business world in Japan. In the course of his visit, he met Bill Fulbright, who was in Japan to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Fulbright scholarship program.
An hour of poetry and music in memory of Jimmie Reid was held on October 23 in the United Nations Chapel in New York City.
The Chitticks spent two weeks in September in southern England and on the edge of Wales. Stan reports that it was an excellent trip and that they enjoyed fine, warm weather.
We all appreciate the interest shown by the widows in class and Dartmouth affairs and have recently received notes from several. This does not include Beatie Adams, Pauline Hartshorn, and Lois Hersey, who were at the fall weekend in person.
Mary Higley is now a great-grandmother to a little boy, who will be" known as "Kip." Her grandson is now a sophomore.
Another four-generation Dartmouth family: Ethel Christophe reports that her granddaughter Karen is a member of the freshman class. She is the daughter of Phillip '54, preceded by Ken '24, and Ken's father '97.
Mildred Ellis writes from her new address in Dunwoody, Ga., where she is now happily settled.

Marion Hourdequin is now living in Rockford, Ill. Her nephew has received early acceptance at Dartmouth.
The annual clambake of the Cape Cod Dartmouth Club, held jointly with the Cornell Club, was held on September 12. The class was represented by the Holmlunds, Taylors, and Bents. It is too bad more of you don't live near the Cape.
