Rock and roll is here to stay! A rather strange package arrived in the mail a few days ago from former WDCR Hall of Fame dee j ay Dave Martson, featuring some of the most outrageous surfin' music to appear since Annette Funicello hung up her bikini and went in for peanut butter ads. Seriously, Dave is a backup singer for a group called "The Young Jacques, formed by some of his musician friends, most of whom are full-time members of prominent Boston 'new wave' bands." The single, appearing on the Ambition label, is a paean to that "friend of whale, friend of shark" with his "souped-up mini-sub" and is called "Jacques Cousteau." Dave says that other versions of the song have been recorded by Livingston Taylor and Plastic Bertrand. Dave also reports that he has moved back to the Upper Valley Wilder, Vt., to be exact - and is working as 2 computer jack-of-all-trades at Logic Associates in White River. Congrats from this former Hall of Fame jock and the rest of the class!

It's Alumni Fund time again! The fund has set a very ambitious goal of nine million dollars. as this is the last year of the Campaign for Dartmouth. Head Agent Steve Dietz encourages all '74s to make gifts early in the drive. Our class will have to go quite a distance to outdo its performance in last year's drive. As participation chair, I'd like to see us better our 74-per cent record, but that will take your help. Of couse, our dollar goal has also been raised this year by 20 per cent - so please consider digging a bit deeper this year. I look forward to talking to many of you during the campaign.

Peter Ashman has been appointed magistrate of the District Court of Alaska for the Third Judicial District in Dillingham, Alaska. Peter is a graduate of the University of Maryland and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia. He worked for the law firm of Semmes, Bowen & Semmes in Baltimore and the Legal Aid Bureau Inc. in Salisbury, Md., before moving to Alaska in 1980 to join the Alaska Legal Services Corporation in Anchorage as a native land claims attorney. So another '74 lawyer makes good - congratulations, Peter! Now, about those parking tickets I got. . . .

Word was received that Chuck Bralver has returned to New York from London. Chuck is working for the consulting firm of Booz, Allen and Hamilton. New York is also home to Chas Carner, who continues to keep himself quite busy with several writing projects. Chas is working on documentaries for two foreign companies, one German and one Japanese. He also has a screenplay in the works, which he described as "a small drama, untitled as yet."

Mike and Anne Draznik are the proud parents of William Michael Draznik, born last July 22. Mike writes, "Although his early behaviour drove me to seek more nights on-call at the hospital, he's developed into a delightful three-month-old. Needless to say, with two children 16 months apart, my colleagues are wondering if I'd been sleeping through the family planning lectures during my residency." Mike has decided to stay on in Cincinnati after he finishes his residency in obstetrics and gynecology. he will be joining an established practice, out of the Christ Hospital. Anne has put down her career in hospital administration for an uncertain period, but "has found plenty of diversion to occupy her time." All the Drazniks will venture eastward to New York for the month of April, when Mike will be doing an elective in infertility at the Doctors' Hospital. He hopes to run into many '74s and perhaps to make a jaunt north to Hanover. Thanks for the letter, Mike. Good luck with the new arrival; anyone named William is all right by me! Till next month.
