1303 Hightower Trail, Suite 220 Atlanta, GA 30350
Now that reunions are over, I have to come up with new news. Since I did not have much, I again resorted to phone calls.
Anne Bagamery called me from San Francisco to explain why she was not at reunion. She went instead to a family reunion for her husband's family. This included a tour of Comanche, Tex., where she was amazed to be shown Wilson Neely's ancestral home (or at least his grandfather's house). That gets a prize in the small world department.
Lisa Martin Tunnell was home when I called. She continues to enjoy married life in Atlanta, but would not divulge any more news. I tried to call Bonnie Bordins in New York City. She was not at home and did not respond to my message on the machine. Rick Spier thwarted my attempt at a local Atlanta call by having an unlisted number.
Marianne Bond Price sounds like she is living an idyllic life in Mocksville, N.C. (near Winston-Salem). By day, Marianne is a vice president in charge of loan administration for First Wachovia Bank. Husband, Bob Price, is a partner in Burns & Price, a law firm specializing in bankruptcy work. At night and on weekends, Marianne and Bob turn into gentlemen farmers. On their farm, they have three horses, two dogs, and three cats. Weekends are spent "eventing," a combination of cross-country jumping, stadium jumping, and dressage. No word yet if Marianne will show up on the 1988 Olympic equestrian team, but it sure sounds like fun. Marianne also quashed rumors that she attended the wedding of her prep school roommate, Caroline Kennedy. Sorry folks, rio details on Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Mark Tomizawa was Home in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., when I called. Mark recently resigned from his job in New York City and started his own broadcast, promotion, and advertising firm under the name Mark Tomizawa Marketing. Last year, Mark won a local Emmy for his rock-and-roll show. And to think it all started at WDCR. Look for that name in lights! In September, Mark and wife, Linda Button '79 are planning to attend the fourth "Big Lukewarm," a WDCR version of the Big Chill. Rick Beyer is organizing the event. When he is not organizing, Rick is producer of the news at WNEV in Boston (channel 7) and expecting his first child. Other '78s expected to attend include Peter Hirschberg (jetting in from California) and Jordan Roderick.
Don Ankeny was home in Wayzata, Minn. Don was recently made a partner with Trammell Crow Company, where he is working to add office buildings to the skyline of Minneapolis and its suburbs. Don is enjoying family life with two little girls (ages two and four), a yellow Lab puppy, and a sailboat to race on weekends. He also plays tennis and recently had a match with Bill McLaughlin. Don reported that Charlie Wise came through on his way back to Japan. Charlie found the grocery prices very attractive in comparison to Japan and took home two bags of groceries in addition to his other baggage.
I made a final attempt to find out what people do in Minnesota. However, AmyKolan was not home in Northfield, and did not have a machine for me to talk to. Well, that's all. Send news!
