Another excellent minireunion is history, and, despite the 24—19 loss to the Yalies, a great time was held by perhaps the largest group of '46s to return for our annual fall get-together. Cochairmen Whitey Burnham and Jack Sayers, as well as ever-gracious hosts Bob andJackie Kimball, again executed the game plan to perfection. After gathering at the tent in the Kimball's backyard last Friday for refreshments, chowder, and sandwiches,

the '46 contingent formed for the parade to the Dartmouth Hall lawn to listen to greetings from far-flung alumni, President Freedman, coach Buddy Teevens, and team captains. Renditions of College songs by the Glee Club and band preceded the traditional, large campus bonfire on that beautiful, crisp October evening.

The class executive committee met on the morning of the game with vice president Dune Fitchet presiding. Head agent Welles Fendrich reported that the class foals for the 1989—90 alumni fund will be 155,000 and 66 percent participation; the 1992 mini-reunion dates of October 16-17 (Dartmouth Night-Yale game) were approved; a human relations subcommittee, chaired by Jim Coleman, was formed; and continued support for the library's rarebook preservation project and the athleticsponsor program was approved. A more complete report of this meeting will be provided in Harlan Brumsted's newsletter.

Following the game, over 60 reunioners attended the reception and dinner at the Hanover Inn. Following much appreciated singing by a student group, our new athletic director, Dick Jaeger '59, gave us a most informative description of his responsibilities, challenges, and aspirations for the future of Dartmouth athletics. His insightful comments and straightforward answers to questions, as well as his enthusiasm and 25 years' experience in Dartmouth admissions, left us confident that this aspect of the College's program is in good hands indeed.

Among those attending some or all of the mini-reunion were: Ham and Nancy Bailey, Jim and Romayne Barnet, Bob andJanice Bensing, Whitey and JoanneBurnham, Tom and Mary Cohn, Jim andDelores Coleman, Bill and RobertaDeStefano, Frank and Pat Ettari, Wellesand Bobbie Fendrich, Dune and RuthFitchet, Dan and Kay Fuller, Don andMargaret Furber, Fred and ElizabethGarfield, Andy and Win Gruninger, Samand Suzanne Johnson, Rosemary Marlette, John and Edie McClintock, Jackand Anona Sayers, Ed and Molly Scheu,Howard and Miriam Schneider, Jim andMary Shute, Rob and Jean Smith, and Walt and Mary Snickenberger.
