As I remember, I was writing this column last year on Valentine's Day. This year I'll spend it driving to Newnan, Ga., for a hearing at the Coweta County Courthouse. Georgia has a lot of counties and I have had the pleasure of visiting the courthouses in many. Some of my clients have had the pleasure of experiencing the hospitality of those county jails. This particular client is charged with arson. He ad- amantly professes innocence, singed eyebrows notwithstanding.

Mike Pancoe writes that he and wife Ellie and daughters Beth 10, Julia 8, and Hannah 2 live in Bangor, Maine, in a 130-year-old Victorian home. Mike, a 1977 graduate of Dartmouth Medical School and practicing physician, also finds time for skiing, windsurfing, and even representing the Col- lege as head Down East interview/agent. It seems that one star candidate couldn't con- quer the snow-laden Pancoe driveway. To make a long story short (or longer), in the rescue Mike cracked his biceps tendon. Fortunately Mike's roommate Jack Stewart (brother of Atlanta's Jeff Stewart) is an orthopedic surgeon and a hand/arm specialist. (I wonder if this candidate will get a good recommendation for admission.

The Tom Csatari family has had a busy year—Tom as in-house attorney for Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, and Judy as mother, volunteer, and tap dancer. Tom and Judy have three children: Emily, a teenager, Sasha, a third-grader, and Tommy 1. Tom stays active lecturing at SMU law school, and traveling to Austin regularly for the state attorney general's Task Force on Non-Profit Hospitals and Charity Care. Tom is also a zealous member of the "Dartmouth Dinosaurs" basketball team, which included Charlie Potts '76 and Tyrone Byrd '73.

In Memphis, Tenn., Shepperson Wilbun has been appointed to serve on the city council as representative of District 7. Shep also is the developer and owner of Wilbun Enterprises, Inc. As a developer, Wilbun and his associates have renovated 69 units of housing in North Memphis and are presently involved in building moderately priced single-family homes. As a councilman Wilbun hopes to create more jobs and propose a housing fund to develop low-cost housing. After Dartmouth Shep attended MIT, where he received a master's in architecture. Congratulations on the appointment.

Meg Winthrop has received an invitation to visit President George Bush at the White House where she will receive a commendation for her work in South America. After her divorce from the Bolivian chief of police, Meg decided to pursue a career in country music composition in an attempt to unleash her emotional woes. Her latest hit is "If You Lie With the Leopards You're Bound to Get Clawed."

Dave Evanich reports that he and wife Martha (sister of Chuck Glueck) reside in Boxford, Mass., with their three daughters, Jennifer 8, Laura 6, and Kara 2. Dave is executive vice president of strategic development and marketing for United Way of Massachusetts Bay in Boston.
