While affecting us all, the Persian Gulf crisis has had a direct impact on at least one member of our class. Lieutenant Commander Gerry Cox has been deployed to Saudi Arabia after having completed in July his navy-funded emergency medicine residence at Georgetown. Following his residency, Gerry was transferred to the Fleet Hospital and sent to the Gulf. Gerry's wife, Catherine, reports that he is doing well but is looking forward to returning home.
On a more light-hearted note, Peter andAllison Whipple Rockefeller report the birth of William Whipple at Mary Hitchcock on November 3. William's namesake signed the Declaration of Independence as a representative of New Hampshire. Over 200 years, William's dad is pursuing an M.B.A. at Tuck.
Craig Williams has moved from Florida to Sewell, N.J., where he is part of a dentistry practice. Craig and his wife, Yvette, have a two-year old son, Craig Jr.
The Minneapolis Spokesman has reported that Collins Byrd has been named director of admissions at William Mitchell College of Law. After graduating from Dartmouth, Collins received an M.B.A. from Northwestern. He was previously a consulting associate with Bentz Whaley Flessner and Associates, a Minneapolis-based firm that advises educational and other non-profit organizations. In addition, he served as associate director of admissions atNorthwestern's B-school and as assistant to the director of admissions at Dartmouth.
And finally, Robert Utzschneider has been promoted to vice president of Business and Professional Software Inc., at Wavetracer Inc., a high tech firm based in Boston.
