Anna Spalding wrote on a green card, "With Randall at 92-plus and me at 88, we do not get far from our Whitefield home. Such happy memories of past reunionssorry not to be with you this year."
Esther and I sometimes sat beside Randall and Anna at football games. They were always good company. I regret never staying at the Spalding Inn with classmates when DonMorse was the 1921 lawn bowling champion.
In September 1910 I went to the St. Johnsbury Fair and saw the first airplane flight in Vermont.
In September 19221 was thrilled as I looked down at the Eiffel Tower from a small plane reaching an altitude of 3,500 feet. That was the last time I saw Paris and the only time I ever rode in an airplane.
