I wasn't able to be at our October mini-reunion to report on the festivities, but Bob Kimball agreed to call the roll and send me a list of the attendees. He also took note of what our class officers did or did not do at the class meeting. I'll report all to you in the Winter issue.

Sometime in October the class of 1946 and our sterling head agent, Tom Adams, will be honored by the College for the great effort we came up with for the last Alumni Fund drive.

Thanks to John McClintock, I can report a bit of news this month. Tom McCollow has retired from Journal Communications Co. He served as president and chairman of the board. His company published newspapers in Milwaukee and also had TV and radio stations in that area. Tom started with the company in 1951.1 understand he has bought a home in Harbor Ridge, Fla., near Stuart. Congratulations, Tom, on a long and illustrious career.

John Potter and Chan Bowen and their spouses journeyed to Alaska in July to try their luck salmon fishing. I have no report on the extent of their catch, but I think it's safe to say that the salmon fishery is alive and well. Pretty long trip for John, who lives in Rumford, R.I. Not so far for Chan, who lives in Spokane, Wash.

J. Vernon Lamb was inducted into the U.S. Ski Hall of Fame on October 17. He recently spent four weeks in Norway, then on to New Mexico for four more, and then on to California for another four. That should get him back to Lake Placid in time for the ski season. Bill Schillhammer writes that he's beginning to feel retired. He was chief medical director for National Life Insurance Co. in Montpelier, Vt. Said that he recendy saw a Stan Waterman film. I assume that would be an underwater deal, with Stan playing peek-a-boo with some ill-tempered members of the shark family.

Jim Shute came from Malvern, Pa., to New York to visit with Helen Bolton, widow of Richard "Sparky" Bolton, who passed away in March of this year. Warren "Red" Kealey is still practicing law in Norwalk. But hark ye! He's now taken up acting! You lawyer-bashers can jump all over that one. Lawyers, actors, what's the difference? Red says no Hollywood offers yet, but I'm with him all the way. Didn't the Bard say, "All the world's a stage"? Or was it Sinatra? Keep us advised, Red.

Once again I have the sad duty to report that classmates have passed away. John H.Drury died on November 22, 1991; WallaceBurton Owens died on May 1, 1992; and H.William Taylor on July 22.
