About the time you read this, the winter mini-reunion will be shaping up in Hanover for the weekend of February 12-14. It may be too late to make this one, but think about a future one (like next October 29-31).

Last October a lot of '50s were in town again for the Homecoming/Yale/mini-reunion weekend, including Dan Featherstone, John De Graff, Len Matless, Ed Tuck, Gene Ulrich, Newc Eldridge, Dave Taylor, Bud Gleason, Bob Lindell, Jacques Harlow, Fizz Nichols, Jim Vail, Alex Hoffman, Bill Carpenter, Bob Kirby, Jim Birney, Frank Harrington, King Kenney, Dick Echickson, Jack Harned, Bob Wilkinson, Jim Farmer, Ray Head, Jack Newkirk, Bob O'Neil, Joe Medlicott, Al Mitchell, Ben Johnson, Kim Sweazey, Dave Hitchcock, Gene Carver, Dan Wing, Tom McCabe, Ed Noyes, Scott Peters, Dick McSorley, Ann Jewett, and Betsy Pinkham.

Barbara and I watched the Yale game with fellow Phi Doodles Jim and Sally Farmer,Sherry and Anita Marchant, and Bud and Elsie Petersen '49. Apparently the coach and the quarterback listened better than they used to when we shouted advice and second guessing. The Big Green won handily. We four guys are all retired and look old, but the ladies are as lovely as ever.

One of the class secretary's responsibilities is writing the obituaries for this magazine. The process is fairly simple, but it is only as good as the information that flows into it. The Alumni Records office has a limited amount of file information on each of us and I can supplement that from our 1950 yearbook and our 25th Reunion Year Book, but that information also is pretty sketchy and dated. Sometimes a classmate will write an obit for a special friend, something I happen to think is a fine idea.

The point of all this is that you can help. First, if you learn of someone's death, please let me, Joe Medlicott, or the College know about it; sending in a newspaper obit is very useful. Second, if you have left instructions for your own family about whom to notify, please include us.

Also, something that not everyone is aware of, Betsy Pinkham takes care of our widows' program. Betsy, Gordon's widow, says that many Dartmouth wives have found that program to be a good support group.

All that having been said, let's lighten up a bit. Put the dates of June 13, 14, 15, and 16, 1994 on your social calendar for our 45th Reunion.

Lest you didn't notice: the new U.S. President is the first one younger than we are, by virtually a fall generation! President Clinton was born the year we matriculated.
