We don't get to report many marriages these days. Maybe we're getting too old for that sort of thing. Chase Colbora must not feel this way since he was married last January to Marlene Joy Smith. Marlene is from St. Mark's, Manitoba, Canada. She and Chase are making their home in Pasadena, Calif. Our Class is still holding its own in births. We manage to have one or two to report every month and I'm sure there are a lot that we miss. Jack and Caroline olinePatten are the proud parents of their first child, a son, John Wills Jr., born in London, England last December 17. Jack is European Director for McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. and has been stationed in London since last spring.

Neil Bersch authored an article on Tax Planning for Builders in a recent issue of the Home Builders Journal. Neil is a partner and manager of the tax department in the Los Angeles Office of Touche, Ross, Bailey and Smart, Accountants. Another C.P.A., Bob Lynah, has opened his own firm in Framingham, Mass. Bob is a member of a tax panel recently sponsored by the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.

An investment officer of the University of Rochester, Burt Dorsett now is also a new director of Chemical Fund Inc. He was elected at the annual meeting of the shareowners in New York last month. Prior to joining the university's staff in 1962, Burt was with the management consultant firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., and before that with E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. He and his family live in Rochester.

Art Thomas was awarded the Old Saybrook, Conn., Jaycee distinguished service award for 1966. The award was given is recognition of his service to the town of Old Saybrook during the past year. Art is a practicing attorney with his offices in Old Saybrook. He is chairman of the police and charter commissions. After receiving his law degree from Yale, Art attended the School of Economics in London on a Rotary International Scholarship.. His recent activities also include president of the Rotary Club, member of the Old Saybrook Republican Town Committee, and legal counsel for the Westbrook Planning and Zoning Commission.

Noel Day was the guest speaker at a luncheon meeting of the Woman's Association of the First Congregational Church in Wellesley Hills. His subject was entitled "Mission to the City." Dr. Mike Duffy was selected by the Army Surgeon General's Office as the Raymond Metcalfe Award winner for 1965. The award is made annually for outstanding surgical research performed during a residency in one of the surgical specialties. Mike is an Army Major specializing in plastic surgery. He will complete his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center this July.

The news from the Maine coast this season is the election of Dave Stanley to tie post of Second Vice President (personnel) of the Union Mutual Life Insurance Company of Portland. A Fellow of the Life Office Management Institute, Dave first joined Union Mutual as Director of Personnel back in 1960. He is past president of the Associated Industries of Maine Personnel Association and past chairman of the guidance committee of the Portland Chamber of Commerce. His current community activities include being a director of Portland's Child and Family Services and a member of the executive board (and chairman of the personnel committee) of the Pine Tree Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Howard Koonce has been promoted to assistant professor of English at Colby College. As previously reported, he is also administrative assistant to the president of the college.

John Mitchell has returned to Tufts University after a year as Comptroller at Wesleyan. University. He is now serving as business officer and deals with budget projections and service operations. John and his wife live in Winchester, Mass., with their four children. He also serves as a director of the Harvard Apparatus Company in Dover, Mass.

Paul Paganucci and Bob Callender vacationed in Puerto Rico where they spent most of their time playing golf. At least this is their version for publication. It's not that I don't believe them, but it's hard to understand why they returned to New York without a sun tan.
