This year's Alumni Fund Drive will be winding down as you read this, but let us not underestimate the importance of gifts be they great or small. Make the job easier for Gil Tanis and his cohorts! And to those of you who have yet to pay your class dues, sit down now and send a check to Jim Chandler!

Forget not Saturday, September 24, the date of this fall's mini. The game will be versus Ivy League champ Pennsylvania.

Bob Ross, wintering at Hilton Head, called to report the untimely death of Charles E."Chuck" Blumenauer. Bob and Mary represented the class at the memorial service.

Once again from Tacoma, Wash., WhiteyLeyrer recommends to those who are adventurous and self reliant an "escape on a freighter—no entertainment, evening gowns, or tuxes, but lots of ocean to watch." He and Marion crossed the Pacific to Tahiti, Samoa, Fiji, and New Zealand. They followed this with an extensive tour of the Emerald Isle, finishing their '93 adventures with a tour of the Copper Canyon in Northern Mexico. Wow!

And now from two "Snow Birds": BobFaegre (of hockey fame) spends winters in Sanibel, Fla., far from his home in Wayzata, Minn. He keeps in touch with his roommate Henry Macduff and sees other classmates while in Florida and back home in Minnesota. Bob Southworth writes that he and Kate enjoy the warm sunshine in Punta Gorda, Fla. (Ed White please take note) volunteering at the Environmental Center, tooling around in his small boat, and occasionally flying, Bob being a private pilot. One son is working towards his doctorate at Columbia, and the other teaches at the University of New Hampshire. His daughter, after spending six years in the Air Force, is married and living in Texas.

This will be my last column until August, but don't let that stop you from sending me a few words letting me know how your gardens are growing!

From the Mount Sinai Medical Center: "There is no such thing as a 'sudden heart attack.' It requires years of preparation." See you all on September 24!
