A recently received class printout reveals 440 listees. The breakdown: 439 "actives"; 23 "not interested"; 78 widows interested in keeping abreast of class affairs. We've received questionnaires from 30, or seven percent of our "actives." We're still catching up on a backlog of letters, and will report questionnaire results next month.

Bequest Chair Bob Barnum would appreciate your remembering Dartmouth in your estate planning. Several attractive programs are available which preserve income during our lifetimes, take very little from our children, due to tax advantages, and help the College. Think about this—we aren't getting any younger! For questions, write or call Bob at P.O. Box 1689, Greenwich, CT 06836, (203) 661-9462 (office). Bob and Joan spend summers near Tenant's Harbor, Maine, but otherwise are at home in Greenwich where he continues to practice law.

John and Betty Walton report from Louisville that they saw* Dave and Dee Whittemore in New Jersey, and they all took the Staten Island Ferry together to see the South Street Seaport. On the way home they visited Ted and Esther Hopper. Summering at Boothbay Harbor, they occasionally see JimWells, Stan Bolster, and Bailey and Lyell Walten. John says hello to my neighbor "Wat" Waterbury.

Vice-Prexy Bud Hall and DJ enjoyed a visit with daughter Olivia and family in France, and with Fred and Marge Stockwell and Jim andJane Wells at Harbour Ridge, Fla., which Bud describes as a delightful area. They also had the pleasure of seeing Joan Behringer, the wife of our classmate Glenn Behringer, who passed away recently.

Bud has lived in Old Greenwich for 40 years, where your secretary grew up. It was reassuring to hear from him that its charm, the Memorial Day Fire Dept. parade, and the Rocky Point Beach Club (where Bud's children learned to swim and sail, as did I) are still going strong. Finally, he reports that Ted Driscoll is making a solid recovery from last year's stroke.

Chic Webb, a very busy guy, reports seeing Smed Ward, who is building a retirement home in Vermont, spending a weekend with Phil and Vickie Bowie in Maryland, and talking occasionally with "Red" Krumm. While recovering from an April hip replacement, Chic summered in Nantucket. He performs trustee and directorship duties for several corporations and makes period furniture, and he and Betty toured Spain last fall. They are prospering and feel the world has treated them well. They welcome '43s visiting Philadelphia or Nantucket.

Reliable Red Krumm writes of GeorgeMunroe's organization of a Boston dinner in April honoring Ozzie Cowles, now 94, an outstanding basketball coach in our time. George did a fine job. Athletic greats including Broberg and Mcleod attended.

Red has little sympathy for those who have discarded Dartmouth because it isn't the same as 50 years ago. The changes were necessary, in his view, and all is very well. Red receives tapes annually for the Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Cornell games. Anyone interested in viewing them should contact him. We are very sorry to report that Jim Kerley died of heart disease and bronchial pneumonia on March 21, and Jim Heenehan died May 19 and Elmer "Steve" Stevens on May 11, both of unknown causes.
