<<http://www.dartmouth.edu/classes/alumni/86/» Check out our reunion home site on the Web! Thanks to the College for giving us the server space. You will find the latest in information about our upcoming fest at the site, and our class e-mail directory. After a brief hiatus, our monthly Claim to Fame Award goes to Will Rexer, whose recent film, Neglect Not the Children, won a local (New York) Emmy for Excellence and starred Morgan Freeman as narrator. Will produced the film with other Dartmouth grads.
If all went according to plan, Phil Burrow left the navy last July and moved to California. Scott Sandell is working as an independent consultant for small high-tech companies in California. Mark Greenstein has a new career: "I am ramping up to publish magazines on the Web." Mark's ski magazine launched August 7 with photos, articles, and, by September, videos within its pages. Anyone who wants to check out the site can find it at >. Any Dartmouth alum is welcome to submit articles about winter sports. CyberGolf launches in September, and World Wide Wine in October. (You can always find the addresses to Mark's latest magazines at the class of '86s reunion Web site, too.)
T.G. Ricker works for Claris Corp. in California doing "network-related stuff." Dave Lescinsky e-mailed me: "I'm in the middle of my Ph.D work at Arizona State University, studying active volcanoes (department of geology). It's good work for someone who likes to travel, having given me the opportunity to spend time in Alaska, Chile, Colombia, and Costa Rica. This summer I will be heading up to Mt. Rainier to look at some of the near-summit lava flows. I've been at ASU three years now, following two years working at the Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, and three years working on my master's at LSU. On a personal note, I've recently gotten engaged."
Dennis McCooe gave us quite an update: "Garth Mark is working as a 'coffee consultant' in NYC and doing some occasional acting and modeling work. Look for the G-man in an upcoming MCI print ad portraying an absolutely ghoulish Count Dracula! Hans Stander and Jon Cestar are working together at the Trust Co. of the West in LA and are loving their work (something to do with project finance and fund management). Jon is slated to move to Hong Kong and then on to India should all go well. I am living in beautiful Hoboken, N.J., and working in even more bucolic Newark as an attorney with McCarter & English doing computer and high-technology transactional and litigation work."
Michael Upton has seen both Mark Schoening and Jim Valentine this summer in part because of the Internet connections they have made. Mark is taking a summer course at Dartmouth. Jim is in Middlebury taking a Japanese seminar. Keep the news coming!
