Another reminder! We will have a reunion on Saturday, September 30, starting with our "tail-gate" luncheon in the Hanover Inn's Wheelock Room. The class dinner that evening will be held in the Tindle Lounge of Thayer Hall. Again dress will be casual. Procrastinators, make up your minds and make my day!
Yes, we are getting older. My research reveals that during this year, 1995, 87 classmates will reach 80 years of age, 28 will turn 81, and two will have the distinction of being our oldest at 83. And, by the way, we do have a young lad who will be only 76.
Bud Hanley has been in touch with MuffDavis and reports that Muff is now in good health, having recovered from two aneurysms last year. Bud has a granddaughter, Charlotte, who is captain of Yale's women's golf team.
Regretfully I report the deaths of two more of our classmates. Frank Brett passed away in Newton Center, Mass., on June 19, 1994, and Warren "Pierre" Flynn in Pelham, N.Y., on August 29. Unfortunately, reporting delays do occur.
Marion and Parker Holden are not living in an Avon, Conn., health-care facility as I reported in my March column (sorry, Marion). They have relocated to a condo villa in Florida to get away from the care of their house in Rhode Island and to be near one of their sons. They are now legal residents of Florida, living in Fort Myers. Parker keeps in touch with Bud Walls and Ben Walkley, who both live in nearby Bonita Springs, and he reports having lunch with Charlotte and Hank McDuff.
My congratulations and thanks to our three Hanover scribes for their vignettes which were a part of the special March issue of this magazine, "Tales out of School." Ev Wood remembered Professor Henderson lecturing on Macbeth, John Scotford a wine-tasting experiment with Professor Packard, and DaveBradley visiting with Professor McDuffee in his home on Occom Ridge. Again, my thanks for representing '38.
This will be my last column until Septem- ber, so may you all have a good and healthy summer, and please stay out of the hot sun.
