The class mini-reunion and clambake is being hosted by Howie Howland on Cape Cod on Saturday, July 27, with chowder starting at 4 p.m. and festivities continuing through the evening. You've already seen the announcement in the newsletter. Please call Howie at (508) 5646484 to reserve a lobster, etc. All the 40 people who attended two years ago had a blast with about a third staying overnight, kayaking, biking, and golfing at New Seabury with Goggin and Cramer.

Jack Cramer this June becomes president of the Dartmouth Club of Cape Cod and Howie is next in line. "They are ready to welcome any retiring classmate who would like to live in this great place."

Randy Aires, our head agent, reports that he is very encouraged with Alumni Fund response from our classmates with many significant increases. Please don't forget the Alumni Fund and make your gift now before the campaign ends.

David Aronchick, the cluster coordinator, for Smith-Woodward-Ripley, which our class supports, spoke with us last fall and I thought his words were worth repeating and brought back good memories of Dartmouth. He explained that he feels the dorm complexes are more the focus and direction of the college than are fraternities/sororities and that therefore our class funds, which we donate for developing the social and intellectual activities of the complex, are particularly helpful. One of the programs he is working with is called "major confusion" in which seniors get together with and advise sophomores and others on their major direction. David also waxed poetic about the Dartmouth experience, talking of burning cheeks as he ran around the bonfire as a freshman and the moving feeling of walking the worn marble steps to Dartmouth Hall where so many had preceded him.
