Three corporate moves to report. First, SteveBates has been named executive vice president of PNC Personal Advisory Services Inc. in Greenwhich, CT., moving from being senior vice president and regional manager for the Hartford-based Shawmut National Corp. Second, Arthur Fergenson, formerly a litigation partner at Weinberg and Green, has jumped ship to Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll. Arthur has a resume worthy of its own column but one important item was missing—he spent about two weeks as 1969's class secretary. Lastly, Dave Agan has moved from director of Maine's Refugee Resettlement Center and has accepted a position with Upward Bound, a new program at University of Southern Maine.
The sports pages of The Boston Globe recently highlighted a number of Dartmouth alums associated with major league baseball. Among them, of course, was Sandy Alderson. The story talks about the wheelings and dealings of Sandy and Jim Beattie '76, new general manager of the Montreal Expos, as they vie for the services of Bob Bennett '93, Mark Johnson '90, and Bradley Ausmus '91. For those who don't follow baseball, Sandy is the general manager of the Oakland A's.
I know I promised last month that I would list all of our classmates who are involved in alumni affairs but I just don't feel like doing it right now.
Take care and write.
