The class of'73 came together in June 1998 and had a great 25th Reunion. Over 165 classmates and 175 spouses, guests, and children gathered in Hanover June 18-21. Bob Barr and Bob Haynes, Reunion co-chairs, planned and executed a wonderful weekend for '73s and guests, young and old alike.

Steve Kessner, our class agent, led the successful effort to raise a Reunion class gift of $1,022,073. Bob Smith was elected to succeed him as class agent. Steve in turn was elected class president to succeed Paul Sehl, our class leader since 1994. Andy Cafirey and Mark Harty were elected co-vice presidents. Class treasurer Chet Homer will turn over a healthy class treasury to newly elected Thad King. Yours truly, Bob Conway, and Bob Barr have "re-upped" for five more years as class secretary and newsletter editor, respectively.

Early arrivals at the Reunion included Bill Nisen, a computer applications executive who flew in from London and was designated as the new '73 homepage Webmaster. Bob Ryan, lawyer turned actor-writer from Los Angeles, gave his understudy in a currendy running musical a chance to play the lead for a few days while Bob was in Hanover.

Other "long distance" Reunion attendees were Canada native Dana Johnson, who plays hockey for a German team in Nuremburg, diplomat Steve Buckler from Brasilia, John Lundgren with James River Corp. in Brussels, investment manager Alex Rodzianko and consultant Peter Luthy from London, Business Week correspondent Bill Symonds from Rome, and attorney Eric Schwartz from Paris.

Pilobolus artistic director Michael Tracy was mentioned in a New York Times article reporting on the modern dance troupe's auditions in May. Michael and Pilobolus cofounder Lee Harris and family were in attendance at the Reunion. Lee is now the vice president of Whitelight Systems Inc., a computer software company in Palo Alto, Calif.

Doctor Bob Norton and family came from Pordand, Ore. Attorney-film producer Donna Bascom brought spouse Paul Biddleman and their children from NYC. Chips Hughes, a senior corporate counsel with Pfizer, and wife Nancy pulled off a "hat trick" by moving out of their Colorado home, moving into their new Connecticut home, and attending the Reunion all in the same week. Chips will now be working out of Pfizer's Groton, Conn., legal office.

Attorney ValArtnento was nominated as Aunt of the Year for bringing two of her young nephews from Californina to the Reunion. High school prinicipal Jake Johnston and family traveled down from Ontario. Credit card executive Donna Ferretti Tihalas and daughter attended from Massachusetts. Oil company executive Jeremy Smith and family came up from Florida, as did attorney Sue Gordon and family. Once again this Reunion, Sue was the fastest '73 in the Sunday morning 10K Reunion Run.

Kevin O'Shea, an attorney from Elmira, N.Y., was a presence at both the '73 tent and on the golf course. Atlanta lawyer Karen Fagin White attended with her husband, Thomas, and family. Doctor Dave Wender and wife Maggie traveled from Jackson, Miss., for the event. Yale Law professor Kate Stith-Cabranes and Boston-based Marie Shaffer, a NYNEX executive, made it to Hanover for Friday's Reunion activities.

For those who want a copy of the 192page 25th Reunion Book with a directory of all our classmates, class history, sports information, College songs, over 100 photographs of the campus, and more, send me a check payable to Dartmouth Class of 1973 in the amount of $44 ($61 Canadian dollars). Offer good while supplies last. I have fewer than 100 books left.
