Norm Sylvester e-mailed a note—something I hope more of you would do! "The first weekend in December, at the behest of Glower Jones of Hot-lanta, four of us who shared a room in Hitchcock our freshman year got together for a great celebratory dinner in New York. Included were Glower, Larry Schwartz, JimSpence, and myself with spouses and significant others. I wish I had pictures to share with you, but I think jones has them or might have burned them to protect the innocent. We had a terrific time talking about all the former roommates and classmates behind their backs, and it was great catching up with everybody. We all vow to do it again this year." I hope this will become the sort of event more classmates can enjoy as Joe Jacquet begins to get the regional mini-reunions in place in the coming year.

Nick Stevens wrote a long and helpful letter about a previous exchange we had on how to get more news about more classmates in these notes or the newsletter. Nick's idea is something you will hear more about, but it begins to look toward our 45 th and is tentatively titled the 58 R-45 Inclusivity Project. Nick was full of news. Frank Gado spent February in Italy as a guest of the Italian government tracking future diplomats to write English. JohnOtis is in Florida and will be married in April. He even reported that Ted Neely couldn't attend our 40th because he was committed to a vacation cabin in Canada with his in-laws, and Phil Livingston was on a round-the-world flight with a sort of airborne Rotary organization. Nick also has corresponded with and coaxed SamSilverstein and Wayne Hamilton to write pieces for the newsletter. Sam's will address why and how an aging and healthconscious group can assume more responsibility for preventive medicine. I am not certain of Wayne's topic, but if it approaches the quality of his statement in Roads Taken it will be worth the read. I mean, Wayne beat Elvis in a talent contest in Tupelo playing an accordion!

Pete Williamson had back surgery on February 10 and is recovering slowly. Susan tells me he was working ten to 12 hours each day at home and has now gone back to work at the hospital and medical center. Things are not moving as fast as Peter would want, but he is on the mend and will be back on the slopes next year. By the time this is published, Sally and I will be packing the house for retirement from heading a school and moving back to Hanover. It won't be complete retirement since I will be joining Independent Educational Services, a consulting firm in Alexandria, Va., on a part-time basis. Our new address will be in the next column, but let me hear from you while you still know the current address.
