Joe Logan writes from St. Louis: "Life seems to go on about as usual. We travel a fair amount and spent (last) Christmas with our grandchildren and their parents in Maui, 10 days in Grand Cayman Island in April, several days in Providence participating in commencement at Brown University, where our granddaughter, Abigail, graduated. She is the daughter of our son, Dan '71. Here at home I do a little gardening at this time of year (last summer). I am currently president of the Mens Garden Club of Webster Groves, but this is kind of a fraud because I really don't know much about plants. Yvonne and I will soon make our annual migration from St. Louis to Holland, Michigan. Fortunately, Yvonne and I both enjoy reasonably good health but it seems as though we have to take a lot of pills! I still attempt to play tennis and, fortunately, team up with doubles players who are all as old and beat up as I am. It makes for a somewhat different game but it is fun and good exercise."
A note from Guy Swenson, our class gift officer, said he had a "somewhat restricted winter" due to numerous tests followed by an operation. All seems fine now and he and Maty were looking forward to their summer in New Hampshire, a trip to Wyoming in September, and the mini in October.
I found this credit on an article in the New York Philharmonic program: "Jerry Tallmer, reporter and critic, has been writing about Al Hirschfeld since the 1970s."
Warren Kreter started off his newest stint as head agent with "a great campaign." The class total for the College Fund reached above $120,000 against the goal of $125,000. But the real clincher was the participation of 74.2 percent, highest of any class except reunioning 1933.
